Love is in the air! Gerard Butler and girlfriend Morgan Brown depart hand-in-hand from Toronto International Film Festival

He may have flown out without her last week.

But Gerard Butler's girlfriend Morgan Brown wasn't letting him out of arms reach as they made their way back to LA on Wednesday.

The couple looked as in love as ever as they walked hand in hand through the airport as they left the Toronto International Film Festival early.

The 45-year-old actor donned a casual look as he strolled through departures, in a plain black t-shirt, grey jeans and trainers.

He finished his look off with a brown trilby hat and shades, and shunned the prima donna wardrobe typecast by carrying all his luggage in the smallest over the shoulder man bag.

His 39-year-old brunette squeeze meanwhile looked gorgeous in a short white dress that accentuated her bronze tan, while she carried a cropped denim jacket in her hand.

Gerard appears to have settled down after gaining a reputation as something of a Hollywood playboy, thanks to flings with stars including Jennifer Aniston, Cameron Diaz and supermodel Naomi Campbell.

The star has been in a relationship with Morgan for around a year, and admitted in an interview with InStyle last winter that he has been searching for a certain type of girl.

'I love a woman who has a good sense of her own style--when, no matter how simple it is, you can just tell she wears it well,' he explained.

'Often times when I go to awards shows, sometimes it feels like a hassle, like "gosh, I have to go through all this?" Then you get there, and you see a woman dressed up with her hair and makeup done, wearing a beautiful dress, and they look so elegant and sexy and beautiful. It's nice to play dress-up.'

'The woman I will fall in love with will look great in that, but she is also somebody who can completely kick it in a pair of sandals and jeans and t-shirt. That's my [kind of] girl.'

Meanwhile Butler's next film London Has Fallen - the sequel to 2013's Olympus Has Fallen - has had its release date pushed back from from January to March 2016.
