'My eye is weeping and screaming': Lorde suffers from a nasty and angry-looking eye infection as she attends Kanye West's New York Fashion Week show

She may have fallen prey to a nasty infection around her eye, but that didn't stop Lorde from attending New York Fashion Week on Wednesday.

The Kiwi singer, 18, decided to head to Kanye West's Yeezy Season 2 show at Skylight Modern despite suffering from swollen and pink eye.

Facing the bright lights, she rubbed shoulders with A-listers including Drake, the Kardashians and the Jenners, later revealing on Instagram, 'my eye is weeping and screaming.'

Wearing belted and flared camel pants, Lorde teamed her trousers with a black and beige long sleeve top that gave the appearance of having cut-outs.

The Royals crooner also added a pair of leather trainers and had her long dark mane out over her shoulders and in its signature curls.

But it was her makeup that took centre stage thanks to her inflamed eye, with foundation being applied delicately around the seeping one, and on the other a heavy flick of black eyeliner.

After the show, Lorde took to Instagram to address her illness with her more than 2.8 million followers and bravely shared selfies.

She captioned one, where she appears to be in a white robe and getting made up by makeup artists: 'One question: what happened to your eye?'

Under the other, she elaborated about why she chose to head out to the event saying: 'why not say f**k it.'

'The skin is peeling off my lips and hands these days I very rarely see the sun and my eye is weeping and screaming and it's fashion week,' Lorde wrote. 

'And everyone already thinks I'm strange and it's a Kanye show where the freaks are beautiful so why not say f*** it and let's dance with the melodrama?' she continued. 

'Ps. (sic) the show was crazy I got to wear sneakers and had the best bear hug from drizzy and now I'm in bed in a sweater editing something cool for you guys to see very soon.'

Lorde mingled with the crowd at the show, including Kendall Jenner, 19, and Jaden Smith, 17, who was there with his new girlfriend Sarah Snyder, and also hugged rapper Drake, 28.

Kim Kardashian West, 34, and sisters 31-year-old Khloe and Kourtney Kardashian, 36, were also in attendance, while Kylie Jenner, 18, appeared in the show.
