Heung-min Son scored twice as Tottenham came from behind to defeat Azerbaijani side FK Qarabag 3-1 at White Hart Lane. Spurs fell behind after five minutes when Richard Almeida stroked home a penalty awarded for a foul by Kieran Trippier on Ansi Agolli. But the hosts responded through a quick-fire double from Son, with the £22million summer arrival first converting Andros Townsend's corner from close-range before combining with Dele Alli to stroke home his second.

Mauricio Pochettino hailed the instant impact of Son Heung-min after the summer arrival struck twice to lead Tottenham to Europa League victory over Qarabag. The Azerbaijan Premier League champions took a surprise lead at White Hart Lane as debutant Kieran Trippier felled Ansi Agolli in the box and Richard Almeida converted the resulting penalty. But Son then struck twice in three first-half minutes to turn the game around, with Erik Lamela adding another late on to seal a 3-1 victory.
