Liverpool defender Mamadou Sakho has committed his future to the club after agreeing a new long-term deal worth around £100,000-per-week.
Brendan Rodgers made it clear earlier this week that he wanted the France international to extend his stay at Anfield, after making a successful return to action in the 1-1 draw with Bordeaux. The contract, which sees his salary improve dramatically, will run until June 2020.
After putting pen to paper, Sakho told Liverpool's official website: 'I am a Liverpool soldier and when Liverpool need me, I try to give my best. I am happy to stay as a scouser!'

Sakho had been courted by Roma during the recent transfer window but Liverpool rejected their attempts to take him on loan.
Sakho had two years remaining of the terms he originally signed when he arrived from Paris St Germain in September 2013 but he is a popular figure amongst supporters and he has built up an affinity for the club.
He has found it hard to dislodge Dejan Lovren from Liverpool's starting line-up in the Barclays Premier League but Rodgers has admitted that Sakho's display in the Europa League has given him plenty to consider ahead of Sunday's clash with Norwich.
Liverpool are on a run of three Premier League games without a win going into the clash with Alex Neil's Canaries.
But manager Rodgers hopes the impending return of players such as Daniel Sturridge will help his side get back to winning ways sooner rather than later.
Sakho would sees his salary improve to around £100,000 per week and it runs until June 2020
'When you lose games there's a disappointment that comes with it – and the performance – and we know in modern football one performance can swing it around.
'We now have players coming back who will hopefully add to the squad which will see us go on a run of games now to get the victories.
'It's about staying calm as a manager and never getting too carried away or disappointed with results. The nature of management is that it's important you remain calm.'
