Friday Mashup #100-Guest Designer and The Alley Way Stamps Inspiration Challenge

Friday is here! Yippee!! My pal Holly from the Friday Mashup is celebrating 100 challenges! She has created a fun challenge for this week's festivities and has invited back past designers. I loved designing with the team and was thrilled that she thought of me! Thanks Holly!!

So here is the "Mashup" Challenge:

1. Make a project using "Your Favorite Challenge 1-99".
2. Tell us what you like about the Challenge You picked!
3. Link up for a Chance to win a "$25 Stampin' Up! Gift Certificate".

Rules for Giveaway* You must Link up with an original project created for this challenge. Please provide a Link back to the Mashup in your Post. One entry per person in drawing for GC.

I went with Challenge #60-Boys will be Boys!!!

The challenge was to use the sketch and to create a masculine card. I flipped the sketch onto a portrait card layout.

I was inspired by the fun inspiration photo over at the Alley Way Stamps. I loved all the colours, the "boy" feel to the photo and the pirate at the bottom!! Heehee!!! The Alley Way group is pairing up with The 3 Girls Jam ribbon company, so I added some twine to my card too.

Be sure to stop by the Friday Mashup and send them some congratulations on their 100th challenge!!! That is an amazing accomplishment!!! Way to go ladies and thank you again for having me!

Friday Mashup, Colour Q and Retro Sketches {Give Thanks}

What an honour to be mentioned in the CAS Favourites this week on Splitcoast Stampers. Thank you to Susan!!!

Wow, October is almost here! September has flown by and the cooler weather seems to be on its way for us here. We have been enjoying sunny days and clear skies but the rain started lightly this morning and it is kind of a relief...Fall is here and it feels good. My voice is scratchy and I have the chills. My throat was burning last night and I have a drippy nose! Yuck. Hopefully the weekend will mend me.

{Supplies Used}
Stamps: French Foliage, Hand Penned Holidays
Inks: Rich Razzleberry, Soft Suede, Pumpkin Pie and Dusty Durango
Papers: Soft Suede, Dusty Durango and White
Extras: Big Shot, Button, Twine, Snips, Woodgrain Embossing Folder

Thank goodness for fun challenges and a chance to create! I have missed crafting so much and have actually been sketching again in my sketch book. I also was so inspired by all the gorgeous cards out there, I ordered some new Stampin' Up goodies for Christmas card making. The order should arrive today and I hope to put my new goodies to use soon. Now I need to tidy my craft room and purge some older things. Sigh...I need a house for all of my stamping supplies!

The Friday Mashup {Thank You} and Cas-ual Fridays {Banners and Flags}

I got to play with paper today and some ink! Hooray! I saw the challenge over at the Friday Mashup and I was intrigued by the wonderful colours they have this week...Yellow, Navy, Turquoise, Suede and I added White...when I saw the design team samples, I knew I had to play! I loved how the colours looked when put together! I also saw the Cas-ual Fridays Challenge to use Banners and Flags

CFC67

So here is the "Mashup" Challenge:
  1. Make a project with the colors "Midnight Muse, So Saffron, Tempting Turquoise & Soft Suede".
  2. Or Make a "Thank You" project .
  3. Or "Mash it Up" and create a "Thank You project w/ the colors Midnight Muse, So Saffron, Tempting Turquoise & Soft Suede".
So I inked up the Papillon Potpourri set and used a sentiment from the retired hostess set "Because I Care". The sentiment is cut out using the small banners dies from Stampin' Up, I just cut off one of the flagged sides! Using the matching butterfly punch, I popped up one of the butterflies, and added some gemstone bling to it. I also used the edglit die to add some interest.

Friday Mashup #41-{Thank You} and the Color Throwdown #174

Friday is here! Yahoooo! Another Friday Mashup ChallengeThank you to everyone who joined in with Holly's challenge last week.  This week I am the hostess and I am in desperate need of thank you cards! Being a Primary Teacher, thank you cards are always a "must" to have on hand!!!  So this week I am challenging you to make a project with a Thank You sentiment and some Designer or Patterned Paper!

I used the colours at the Colour Throwdown for this card!  My designer paper comes from Kaiser Kraft and I used my Marvy Punches for the circles. The background is embossed and the whole card is on a Naturals Ivory card base.

We hope that you will join the Friday Mashup Challenge this week!  Please be sure to visit the other DT Members to see their wonderful creations!

Thank you ladies for the wonderful opportunity!!  I also wanted to play along with CR84FN and the Sassy Digi Challenges, so I combined all the challenges to make my snowgal card!

Friday Mashup #30, Scrapbooker's Paradise #39 {Celebrate Special Moments}

This week at the Friday Mashup, Heidi is challenging us to use up thoses scraps and to use her awesome sketch!  I had fun with her sketch and used the "Seaside Lighthouse" stamp set from Essential Stamps again.  I made another card with this set too...please click HERE to see it.

So here is the "Mashup" Challenge :
  1. Make a project using the "Sketch".
  2. Or Make a project using "Recycled / Repurposed Materials or Supplies".
  3. Or "Mash it Up" and create a project "Using The Sketch and Recycled /Repurposed Materials or Supplies".
My recycled items were the scraps from the first card I made, some cut twine that I had in my cut ribbon stash bag and a brad I had deep in my stash that I never use! This card is also for the challenge over at Scrapbooker's Paradise, which is to create a Masculine Card.

My hubby and I love to get away to the Westcoast and hear the waves crashing. We even spent our honeymoon at this location. This will be a card I give him for our next trip out there in January. We also do this big walk around the local lighthouse. It is a gorgeous walk!

We hope that you will join the Friday Mashup Challenge this week!  And be sure to join the ladies at Scrapbooker's Paradise.  Please be sure to visit the other DT Members to see their wonderful creations!

Friday Mashup #29-That's a Wrap! and Mojo Monday Sketch

Good morning everyone!  Happy Friday!  I have been without internet for 24 hours! Yikes! Thank goodness for I-Phones!!! LOL!  My cable was out but it was because of my router...grrr...so frustrating but I am happy that it is finally back!  This week the lovely Kim is our hostess at the Friday Mashup and she is challenging us to use a Belly Band on our Card or to use Twine.  I used the current Mojo Sketch for my layout!

Photo from Google
So here is the "Mashup" Challenge :
  1. Make a project featuring "A Belly Band".
  2. Or Make a project using "Twine".
  3. Or "Mash it Up" and create a project "Using Twine with a "Belly Band".*
*Belly Band: A strip of card stock (or you can use ribbon) wrapped around the middle of a card like a belt. It is made slightly loose around the card so it can be slid off to read the text beneath or inside.

I decided to just use twine on my card and used a bit at the top of my card, on the ribbon. I used some Upsy Daisy Paper that I had in my stash.  Then I got out the snowflake punch and punched out a glitter snowflake from the silver glimmer paper. The Marina Mist Satin Ribbon also adds a shine!

Friday Mashup Challenge #28-A Snowflake is Winter's Butterfly

"Here comes Susie Snowflake, look at her tumbling down! Tap, tap, tapping on your windowpane, to tell you she's in town!"

I love Doris Day and I especially {heart} her wonderful Christmas album. On that album is the song, "Susie Snowflake" and it was always a favourite of mine as a child and still is today! I think snowflakes are one of the prettiest parts of Christmas and on Christmas cards...so this week I am challenging you to make an Easel Card with Snowflakes on it! The design team has come up with some gorgeous samples, I hope you will join us this week and get a little wintery...

So here is the "Mashup" Challenge :

Friday Mashup #27-Double, Double, Toil and Trouble!

This week at the Friday Mashup we are going spooky!  That is right, Halloween and a terrific colour challenge!  We also have two new talented Guest Designers for October, Nina - Notes by Nina and Michele - Michele Hearts Paper.  Welcome ladies!!

So here is the "Mashup" Challenge :
  1. Make a "Halloween themed" Project.
  2. Or Make a Project using the colors: "Black, Pumpkin Pie, Lucky Limeade & Concord Crush".
  3. Or "Mash it Up" and create a "Halloween project using the Colors listed above".
*With all of our Challenges that have a Stampin' Up! Colour Combo, you may substitute any colours you have, with similar ones you have on hand.

I don't have very many Halloween sets so I had to improvise and pulled out an old stamp that I had before I became a Stampin' Up Demonstrator. I embossed the trees with versamark, black ink and clear embossing powder. Then I sponged Pumpkin Pie ink all over them.  I love the effect of the emboss resist.  I also embossed the sentiment from "Hand-penned Holidays".  The DSP is from the Hostess Level 1 pack from last year's catalogue, I thought the design looked "bat like" in the Concord Crush.

I created a card that uses brads, but not LOTS of brads...I need to use brads more, they are such a great accent!!! I inked up my "French Foliage" stamp set and combined it with the new "Pursuit of Happiness" word set.  I love it!  I wanted to create a corrugated look on my card, so I got out my crimper!  I used the colours Early Espresso, More Mustard and River Rock.

Friday Mashup #25- "Sketch it Square and Manly"

This week at the Friday Mashup, Kasey has an awesome challenge all lined up for you!  It is a terrific sketch with a manly twist!

So here is the "Mashup" Challenge :
  1. Make a project using the "Square Sketch above ".
  2. Or Make a Project that has a "Masculine" theme.
  3. Or "Mash it Up" and create a "Square Project using the Sketch, with a Masculine theme".
I decided to ink up an old Christmas Favourite, inspired by my friend Tasha...she loves the Holiday Lineup stamp set and this is what I created....

I love colouring and so I spent some quality time on my card, colouring each piece of clothing! I also used the new "Dazzling Details" glitter glue from the Holiday Mini...I added little pieces of glitter to the pompoms on the elves hats!  So much fun!!!  I also added some of the new "mini bells" to my snowflakes, and the card now jingles....hehehe...love it!!!

Friday Mashup #24 and Hand Stamped Sentiments #84

This week is a FALL challenge for the Friday Mashup team!  Lisa is asking for a card with yellows and oranges and wow did I have fun creating it!!!  Handstamped Sentiments is also asking for a Fall card!  Their design team has lots of wonderful inspiration this week!

So here is the "Mashup" Challenge:
  1. Create a project with an "Autumn" theme.
  2. Or Create a project using shades of "Yellow & Orange".
  3. Or "Mash it Up" and create a "Autumn project using shades of Yellow & Orange".
I am on an embossing kick!  Love the new Leaves of a Tree stamp and I inked it up in clear embossing powder and then sponged Tangerine Tango and So Saffron around it to make an emboss resist card! I also inked up the sentiment from Hand-penned Sentiments in Versamark ink and then inked it with Tangerine Tango ink...then I applied clear embossing powder to it, so the sentiment would be bold.  The designer paper is from the "Bold Brights" collection designer paper pack and is Pumpkin Pie.

We hope that you will join the Friday Mashup Challenge this week!  Please be sure to visit the other DT Members to see their wonderful creations!
