Matt Damon films police motorbike action scene for Bourne 5 in Tenerife... after apologizing for diversity comments

Matt Damon was glad to be back in the saddle as he filmed an action scene for Bourne 5 on the streets of Tenerife (the largest of Spain's Canary Islands) on Wednesday.

The Oscar-winning screenwriter - who turns 45 next month - mounted a police motorbike, which was attached to an elaborate mobile camera rig.

The Interstellar star was shooting a rain-soaked action sequence, reprising his amnesiac former black ops character Jason Bourne for the first time since 2007.

Damon also co-penned the sequel - rumoured to be titled 'The Bourne Betrayal'- with Christopher Rouse and director Paul Greengrass.

The movie - hitting US/UK theaters July 29, 2016 - will also feature Tommy Lee Jones, Alicia Vikander, Julia Stiles, Vincent Cassel, and Ato Essandoh.

Matt's sighting came the same day he issued a statement apologizing for lecturing producer Effie Brown during HBO's Project Greenlight: 'When we’re talking about diversity you do it in the casting of the film, not in the casting of the show.'
