Who is...Turd Ferguson?: Clever Jeopardy guest channels classic Saturday Night Live skit in her final answer

Talia Lavin may not have left Jeopardy with any prize money, but she became a winner in the hearts of viewers for her hilarious reference to a classic Saturday Night Live skit on Wednesday's episode.

The final Jeopardy clue was: 'This song, from a 1999 animated film about censorship, had a word censored from its Oscar performance.'

Drawing a blank, Lavin, a fact-checker for the New Yorker magazine, decided to use her answer to pull a prank on host Alex Trebek.

Referencing the popular SNL skit Celebrity Jeopardy, Lavin answered: 'What is...The Love Ballad of Turd Ferguson,' adding a 'P.S. Hi Mom [smiley face].'

A consummate professional, Trebek read aloud her obviously incorrect answer without even so much as a giggle.

Lavin's answer of Turd Ferguson references the SNL skit Celebrity Jeopardy, in which Will Farrell played an increasingly impatient Trebek fed up with his obnoxious celebrity contestants.

In the long-running sketch, one of the recurring guests, Burt Reynolds (played by Norm MacDonald), would always change his name to 'Turd Ferguson' on his podium board and insist on Trebek referring to him as such.

While her answer was hilarious, at least for die-hard SNL fans, Lavin's answer was of course incorrect and her score dropped from $600 to $0, sending her home empty handed.

But on the upside - Lavin has a new season of SNL to look forward to. The sketch comedy show returns to the air on October 3, with host Miley Cyrus.

And for anyone who cares - the real answer to last night's final jeopardy question was the song Blame Canada from the movie South Park: Bigger, Louder & Uncut.
