She's used to strutting the runway in lingerie as one of Victoria's Secret's most famous Angels.

So Alessandra Ambrosio wasn't afraid to show some skin when she attended the Harper's Bazaar Icons event in New York City on Wednesday.

The 34-year-old left little to the imagination as she walked the red carpet in a slinky black gown.

The floor-length dress was one-shouldered and had two slits up the front to show off Alessandra's long and lean legs.

It also boasted cut-out sections across the model's washboard stomach and back.

Alessandra, who also wore black and red pumps, happily showed off her amazing figure in the sexy outfit as she twirled for the cameras.

The Brazilian beauty kept her accessories to a minimum to let her dress do the talking, but did sport elegant gold earrings and a knuckleduster ring.

Alessandra swept her chestnut brown locks into a sleek ponytail, and finished off her look with dramatic smoky eye make-up and pink lipstick.

The event was thrown as part of New York Fashion Week, which the model has been enjoying over the past few days.

Alessandra lives in Los Angeles, but she will be returning to the Big Apple in a couple of months for the annual Victoria's Secret Fashion Show, which is taking place on December 8.

In the meantime, the mother-of-two is trying her hand at being a movie star, with upcoming appearances in Daddy's Home (out Christmas Day) and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 (out in June).

Alessandra admits she's been incredibly lucky to have achieved her ultimate career goals and says her number one priority is her children.

'I have been so busy lately, and I love everything I do, so I just want to keep doing my best', she told Pop Sugar.

'There’s nothing really [left] at this point... For me, my bucket list is to try to spend as much time as I can with my kids.'
