Having two young children tends to have an effect on one's social calendar.

But Alec Baldwin and wife Hilaria made time to enjoy a date night together in New York on Thursday.

The dynamic duo looked like they were having a great time at a special screening of lost episodes of the iconic Carol Burnett Show.

The Departed star Alec, 57, looked smart in a bespoke suit, grey shirt and leather shoes, though he lost style points for following the current tieless trend.

Stylish Hilaria, who at 31-years-old is almost half her husband's age, looked fantastic in a double breasted woollen dress, which offered the merest glimpse of her bra, and trendy high heels.

It seemed the power couple had left their two-month-old son Rafael and daughter Carmen, two, in the care of their team of childminders, which is made up a group of nannies and babysitters, though she is of course their main caregiver.

Brave Hilaria raised eyebrows last month when she took to Instagram to take on nasty social media detractors who had poked fun at the fact her husband publicly thanked the five women who help keep their family life running smoothly.

But they were not the only big names who were in attendance at the event celebrating the exciting Cinema Society screening of the classic missing shows.

For Kristin Chenoweth was turning heads for all the right reasons in a figure-hugging metallic dress which showcased her fine physique.

The show's star Carol Burnett was also there, and looked fantastic in a red dress, striped cardigan and high heels.

The Carol Burnett Show is one of the most iconic variety and sketch comedy shows in American television history, originally running on CBS from 1967 until 1978 for a total of 278 episodes. It also made a special brief return with nine episodes in 1991.

The series won an amazing 25 prime-time Emmy Awards and has been ranked No. 16 on TV Guide's 50 Greatest TV Shows of All Time in 2002. In 2007 it was also listed as one of Time magazine's 100 Best TV Shows of All Time.

Alec had scoffed at the idea of starting a family with his much younger wife before she first became pregnant, saying: 'Have I thought about having more kids? Oh sure, that would be great, that would be heaven, that would be fantastic.

'As my friend said to me, when you have children, typically in a second marriage, when you're older and you get married again to a woman who would have children, you must always remember that you make sure the children attend a college where the commencement ceremonies are held in a facility with a wheelchair accessible ramp.'

Thankfully the man who is arguably the world's greatest actor changed his mind, and they now seem blissfully happy with their burgeoning family.
