Description
• Architect: Costas Kondylis & Partners

• Tallest residential building in the world from 2000 to March 2003 and occupies a 44.2m x 23.8m footprint which also makes it one of the slenderest buildings in the world. The rooftop also houses a 600-ton Tuned Mass Damper (TMD).

• It has been the tallest residential skyscraper in New York from 2001 until 2011, when the 267-meter Beekman Tower surpassed it.

• The sleek black oblisk was originally designed with a slightly gold-tinted facade and was the first building to break the gentleman's agreement of not building taller than the UN Secretariat in close proximity.

• The United Engineering Center was previously on this site - http://skyscraperpage.com/cities/?buildingID=19772
