He sailed through to Bootcamp after reducing Simon Cowell to tears with his heartfelt opening audition.

And in between filming for The X Factor, singing hopeful Josh Daniel was spotted enjoying a casual stroll in Manchester with a close female friend on Friday.

Josh, 21, was pictured exiting his and former jockey Leonna Mayor's hotel as they made their way to the set of Coronation Street.

The ITV talent show favourite cut a relaxed figure ahead of the first instalment of the Bootcamp stage on Sunday.

Dressed in an all-black outfit which comprised drop-crotch trousers which were rolled up to his calves, a T-shirt which featured a vertical zip detail and a long hooded coat, Josh looked casually cool.

He slipped on a pair of brand-new white trainers which offered a contrasting touch to his outfit.

Meanwhile, model Leonna was suitably styled in a pair of light blue ripped-knee denim jeans, a black skin-tight roll-neck top and a brown faux fur gilet.

She stomped to the Corrie set in a pair of brown leather heeled ankle boots and carried her belongings in a small shoulder bag.

The pair appeared to be bosom buddies and were seen chatting on a park bench part-way through their journey.

Josh and Leonna appeared to thoroughly enjoy the tour of the soap set with both of them documenting their trip on their respective social-media profiles.

The ITV contestant snapped an obligatory photo outside Roy's Rolls cafe, captioning it: 'Thanks @vitalmanagement and @itvcorrie for having us on the #corrietour before it closes its doors! Had a great time!'

Soap fans: The pair couldn't hide their excitement as the took in the sights of the iconic set

Leonna and Josh also posed for a selfie outside the famous pub, the Rovers Return.

Sharing the snap on her Twitter page, she wrote: 'Just chilling at the Rovers,' alongside it.

The duo have been spending a lot of time together lately, with her referring to him as a 'great friend' in many social-media posts.

Josh enamoured the nation and The X Factor judging panel last month when he gave an emotional performance of Labrinth's Jealous, choosing the song as it reminds him of his late best friend, who died after contracting pneumonia following a double lung transplant, aged 18.

Simon - who had recently lost his mother suddenly - and Cheryl Fernandez-Versini both broke down after hearing him sing.

The X Factor airs on ITV at 7pm on Saturday
