Rolls-Royce seals £1.4bn Emirates deal

Rolls-Royce has won a £1.4bn contract to service aircraft engines for Gulf airline Emirates, as it recovers from the mid-air explosion of one of its engines aboard a Qantas flight late last year.

The deal will see Rolls maintain the Trent engines of 70 Airbus aircraft the carrier is due to take delivery of in the next few years.

It is the latest deal Rolls (down 3p to 654.75p) has announced as it battles back from the Qantas incident, including an earlier £700m service deal with Emirates and a £3.2bn deal to supply engines for British Airways.
