That's not very ladylike! Juliette Lewis has ants in her pants as she scratches her thigh while taking her dog for a walk

She's one of the most down-to-earth actresses in Hollywood.

But Juliette Lewis took her laid-back attitude a little too far on Wednesday when she was unable to resist a cheeky scratch as she took her dog Teddy for a walk around Los Angeles.

The 42-year-old actress seemed to have ants in her pants, stuffing her hand down her trousers to relieve her itch when she thought no one was watching.

The Cape Fear actress performed a funny dance as she readjusted her skinny jeans, which she had paired with a blue plaid shirt.

Juliette wore her hair pulled back in a ponytail and went make-up free during her low-key outing with her pet pooch in tow.

The star was rocking bright red trainers that matched her dog lead and wore a pretty pendant chain around her neck.

Juliette was enjoying some down-time in her neighbourhood in the midst of her busy acting and performing schedule.

She will next appear onscreen in kids' action movie Jem and the Holograms, in which she plays villainous record company exec Erica Raymond.

And Juliette recently revealed she is currently penning her directorial debut, which she hopes to execute next year.

The actress explained she was motivated by the death of her beloved father Geoffrey Lewis in April to start working on her creative masterpiece, which she hopes will 'honour' his memory.

'It’s going to be all the things, everything that I am, in a movie, slightly psychedelic', she explained to Refinery 29.

'It is about a girl’s relationship with her ailing father... It’s my father’s impetus to do all those things I put on hold or had fears about, and it kind of ripped the fear off.
