'Truth is a defence!' Judge throws out Lindsay Lohan's defamation case against Fox News over claims the star did cocaine with her mom Dina

Court found the former child star's case a little on the nose on Friday.

TMZ reports that a judge threw out both Lindsay, 29, and her mom Dina Lohan's defamation lawsuits against the Fox News Chanel.

The mother daughter duo both tried to the sue after a guest claimed that the pair did cocaine together.

The pair filed separate suits back in February but both were shot down.

According to TMZ, the judge rather scathingly reminded the Lohans that 'Truth is a defence' against defamation.

The judge ruled that Dina, 53, like her daughter, was a public figure and therefore any claims of defamation required the comment to be made with malice and the judge did not believe this to be the case.

While the lawsuits were filed in February this year, they steam from comments made on TV host Sean Hannity's show on Feb. 4, 2014.

Hannity and guest commentator Michelle Fields were discussing celebrity overdoses two days after actor Philip Seymour Hoffman died of a heroin overdose.

Fields said: 'Lindsay Lohan’s mom is doing cocaine with her.'

The commentator also suggested Dina was an enabler.

While the defamation case has been dropped against Fox and Hannity it is not clear if the case against Fields has been dropped also.

Lindsay has previously admitted to do cocaine, telling Oprah she was not a cocaine addict but rather had done it '10 to 15 times'.

The star also once said that her mother had done cocaine in a recording of a conversation between the actress and her father Michael Lohan.

Dailymail.com has contacted a representative for the Lohans but has yet to receive a comment on this matter.
