One Blake Garvey, 24 break-ups and FIVE weddings: The Bachelor US proves it's harder to find lasting love than it seems

There has been 30 series of The Bachelor US since the show launched in 2002.

And in that time there have been 24 break ups, five weddings and one Blake Garvey incident (dumping the winner for a previously evicted contestant), proving trying to find and stay in love is harder than it seems.

While Australia has only had three seasons of the hit show, two couples (Tim Robards and Anna Heinrich, 2003 and Sam Wood and Snezana Markoski, 2015) are still together and Blake Garvey and Sam Frost's (2014) romance ended before he moved on with former contestant Louise Pillidge.

America's first ever Bachelor Alex Michel and his chosen flame Amanda Marsh were the first off the ranks, but end their television relationship just several months after filming wrapped up.

Then 2003's set couple Aaron Buerge and Helene Eksterowicz following in their footsteps, calling it quits after a few weeks.

After he chose not to propose during the 2005 season, Charlie O'Connell and Sarah Brice ended their relationship after two years, before getting back together one year later.

But despite trying to make their love for each other work, the pair called it quits again two years later.

2007's Bachelor Brad Womack caused a stir while in the luxury mansion, after he rejected both his final two beauties, DeAnna Pappas and Jenni Croft during the grand finale.

At the time of the shocking decision DeAnna said: 'The fact that he didn't pick either one of us is harder to deal with' in her piece to camera on the show. He then returned to the show in 2011 where he chose Emily Maynard but ended it again soon after.

Two years on hunky Jason Mesnick presented his final rose and a luscious engagement ring to finalist Melissa Rycroft in hope the pair would spend the rest of their lives together.

During the airing of the season finale, Jason called off their short-lived engagement and pursued an intimate relationship with runner-up Molly Malaney before proposing to her while holidaying in New Zealand.

The couple went on to tie-the-knot a short few months later (February 2010) which aired on national television one month after and they have since welcomed their first child, Riley Anne.

Last year's Bachelor Juan Pablo Galavis made headlines around the world during his time in the mansion after revealing he had slept with three of the hopeful beauties.

He went on to choose Nikki Ferrell but they announced their split just months later.

But while 18 out of 19 of the Bachelor males have split with their chosen partners, 2013's Sean Lowe has fulfilled his dedication to winner Catherine Giudici after popping the question to her during the grand finale.

Sean and Catherine said their I dos just a short 10 months later on January 26.

Moving fast with their on-screen relationship, the pair walked down the wedding aisle 10 months later which was broadcast on national television after they were paid $1 million by ABC.

Since their big day five years ago, they have expanded their family by welcoming two children.

2011's Ashley Hebert and J.P. Rosenbaum followed in the footsteps of Trista and Ryan and married 16 months after appearing on The Bachelorette. Their wedding was also screened across American television screens.
