NEW Rachelle Bond, 40, the mother of Bella Bond who became known as 'Baby Doe', told investigators her boyfriend Michael McCarthy, 35, punched the girl in the stomach until her body went lifeless. Officials briefed on the investigation said after she was killed, her body was placed in a refrigerator for around a month before it was disposed of. After nearly three months, the washed up toddler who was found dead on the Boston Harbor beach in June was identified on Friday as Bella Neveah Amoroso Bond. Bond and McCarthy were arrested on Friday in connection with Bella's death. McCarthy faces a murder charge while Bond faces a charge of accessory after the fact of murder. They are expected to be arraigned on Monday. The girl's father, Joseph Amoroso, said that Bella was conceived in a tent at Occupy Boston and that he believes Bond has nothing to do with their daughter's death.

Adams was invited by his friend Ralph Merritt to document life at the Manzanar War Relocation Center, one of ten camps along the West Coast where more than 110,000 people were detained. Although a departure from the landscape style he is most celebrated for, most notably his famous black and white landscapes of the American West, Adams accepted the invitation, making a number of trips to the camp between 1943 and 1944. Fifty of the photographs he took there will be show at the Skirball Cultural Center in Los Angeles from October 8 until February. 'Manzaner: The Wartime Photographs of Ansel Adams' presents a lesser-known side to the landscape photographer's body of work and offers visitors an insight into this disturbing period of American history.

Yvonne and Zachery Ervin, both 50, spoke publicly for the first time since their sons, Christopher, 22, and Cameron, 17, allegedly tried to kill them at their Georgia home on September 5. The brothers face charges including aggravated assault and arson after allegedly strangling and beating Yvonne (right) and stabbing Zachary (left). Friday was the first time the Ervins had been at a hearing for their sons. The couple declined to discuss the motive behind the attack and instead spread a positive message.

According to data from the US Census Bureau's 2014 American Community Survey, the richest and poorest states in the country largely remained the same. Actress Sela Ward and her husband, venture capitalist Howard Sherman, are selling their eight-acre Bel Air home for $39.9million. Milwaukee Brewers pitcher Jimmy Nelson was taken to the hospital Thursday after he was hit in the head by a line drive on the mound. The incident took place in the third inning. With a man on third, Tommy Pham stepped to the plate against Nelson. On the third pitch of the at-bat, Pham hit a line shot back at the pitcher's mound. Nelson didn't have enough time to react, and was hit on the right side of his head. Pham reacted immediately, visibly wincing once he realized what happened. He would make it second base on the play, but quickly buried his head into his hands as Nelson laid on the ground.

Cameron Brown was sentenced to life without parole today for first degree murder of his daughter Lauren Key. He threw her off a 120ft cliff because, it was argued, the former baggage handler didn't want to pay her mother $1,000 a month in child support. Lauren's mother, Sarah Key-Marer, broke down in tears as she told the court 'We are all so broken without her. Mr Brown - you will never take her memory from us,' she said directly to the murderer. She tells Daily Mail Online how she has coped with the pain of the past 15-year nightmare in an exclusive interview. 'I had such a bad feeling,' says Sarah of the day Brown had visitation. Brown always denied killing his daughter - but after three trials he was finally found guilty of the callous murder in May.

A woman has been shamed by a snake catcher after attempting to capture a deadly snake with some less-than-safe methods. The anonymous woman messaged Sunshine Coast Snake Catcher Richie Gilbert asking if he could identify a serpent she had had stepped on in an open pair of sandals. Instead, the catcher shared the images on his company Facebook as a warning to his followers on why they should avoiding attempting to 'being a hero' and handling deadly reptiles.

The twin-screw U-boat 110 was readying an attack on a convoy of merchant vessels when her periscope was sighted, only 50 yards away, and she was forced to the surface by Allied depth charges. With her forward diving rudders jammed in the up position and fuel tank damaged, the submarine was then rammed twice by the H.M.S. Garry and hit with several bursts of gunfire. The relentless attack caused the U-Boat to sink off the north east coast of England, not far from the town of Hartlepool, on July 19, 1918. She was recovered later that year and before being sold for scrap a series of photographs were taken providing a rare glimpse of the U-Boat's mechanics.

Paddle-boarding couple Tyler and Lauren were out on the Weeki Wachee river in Florida when the group of manatees approached before swimming underneath them. In footage captured by paddle boarding shop Sup Weeki, the group of mammals, which can reach 13ft long and weigh up to 1,300lbs, come up to inspect the boards, before swimming away downriver. The creatures are endangered, thanks largely to over-hunting by humans, but their numbers are now rebounding thanks to their protected status.
