'That's still my partner': Rapper T.I. recants his comments about severing ties with controversial protégé Iggy Azalea

Maybe she's still fancy after all.

T.I., 34, walked back statements he made regarding ending his working relationship with the 25-year-old Australian songstress Iggy Azalea on Thursday.

Iggy's mentor had previously been involved in defending her on social media when she was accused of 'misappropriating black culture', among other things.

According to US Weekly on Wednesday, T.I. went on a radio show in New York and was asked about his current relationship with his burgeoning mentee.

The respected recording artist replied with a metaphor that seemingly referenced the numerous times he's had to defuse contentious situations involving the young star.

"Right now, Imma block the bullets... when I say, 'Go?' Go! Don't stand around and tote while I'm blocking bullets. You slowing me down, you know what I'm saying?"

He was then asked to clarify if Azalea's twitter feud with fellow rapper Q-Tip was the final straw that caused the supposed split, and he replied 'Yeah, after the Q-Tip thing.'

However, on Thursday, in an interview with the Associated Press via Yahoo News, T.I. apparently decided to temper his previous comments.

'That's still my partner,' he confirmed when asked about Azalea.

The multiple Grammy winner then elaborated on what actually happened regarding the twitter incident.

'It's definitely not a 'sever my ties, walk away, I'm upset' thing. It was more so like, OK, you have a lot on your plate right now. I'm going to pull back or wait until you come to a place where you're ready to come back to the table, so we can start again and make history some more.

As for the 'Fancy' singer, she addressed her mentor's comments through several tweets that stated she was unaware of any problems between the two musicians at this time.

She added, 'Personally, I don't think the radio is the place to talk about your personal issues with someone that's (sic) part of your team...He seems to think there is nothing wrong with what he said, everyone else seems to disagree.'

Azalea, who is engaged to Lakers NBA player Nick Young, recently confessed to having a nose job and chin implants after stepping out with a dramatically different look.
