Earlier this week, the hopes of a reconciliation between herself and her famous ex-boyfriend Prince Harry got the nation talking.

But Cressida Bonas put the rumours behind her on Friday night as she attended the star studded London Fashion Week Party hosted by Vogue UK editor Alexandra Shulman and the US Ambassador Matthew Barzun and his wife Brooke in the British capital.

The 26-year-old dancer, model and actress looked sensational as she opted to spend the evening away from her rumoured reunited beau - who was at the Rugby World Cup - instead mingling with the fashion set, and a handful of politicians.

Solo night out: Just days after being seen with her famous ex-boyfriend Prince Harry, Cressida Bonas put on a striking and gorgeous display at The London Fashion Week Party on Friday evening

The blonde beauty wowed in an almost dangerously short bright orange mini dress, the hemline cutting high up on her lithe dancer's legs.

She allowed herself to show a classy hint of décolletage in the beautiful little number, too, the vibrant shade working well against her warm, honeyed skin-tone.

Cressida finished her simple but effective eveningwear with a pair of nude pointed court shoes - lengthening her legs even more - and a metallic box clutch.

Her golden locks were ever so elegant for the high-end party, held to kick of London Fashion Week, her tresses falling in loose, open curls around her bare shoulders.

She looked a delight as she mingled with the likes of Victoria Beckham, Vogue editor Alexandra, the US Ambassador and also US Secretary of State John Kerry at the special one-off soiree.

Meanwhile, across London and down south in Twickenham at the same time, Prince Harry was at the Rugby World Cup's opening game - which saw England take on Fiji - along with his brother Prince William and his wife Kate.

Cressida and Harry set tongues wagging earlier this week as they spent an evening together along with pals and family members at the handsome red-haired royal's 31st birthday celebrations.

All the more telling is that Cressida - who dated the prince for two years until they split in 2014 - had only just ended her relationship with her actor partner Edward Holcroft.

Wearing a white button shirt with frilly bow, the newly-single actress shared a laugh and a joke with a pal minutes before her old flame exited the same London pub - The Cross Keys pub in Chelsea - after a five-hour birthday party.

A well-placed source told the Mail: 'They were out with a group of friends having a drink to celebrate Harry's 31st. It was also a chance for him to say hello to some of his pals, having spent the summer working in Africa.

'Harry and Cress have always kept in touch and are fond of each other. They aren't together at the moment and although you can never say never.

'Cressida is very fond of him but, well, he didn't quite cut the mustard. The issues that were there when they broke up haven't changed.'

Asked what those issues might be, the friend said: 'I think Harry just expected Cress to keep up with his lifestyle. But she isn't wealthy, she's a hard-working girl who just couldn't do that.

'Her career is going well and she just has other things going on in her life, she's not the type to be at anyone's beck and call.'

Cressida, or Cress as she's often known, is the youngest daughter of socialite Lady Mary Curzon and Old Harrovian businessman Jeffrey Bonas, and she struck up a romance with the royal in 2012 after they were introduced by his cousin Princess Eugenie.

The photographs from earlier this week are sure to be a blow to another of Harry's former partners, Chelsy Davy.

The 29-year-old recently met up with the Prince while he was on a visit to Africa.

A source told The Sun: 'Obviously it's not going to be nice for Chelsy to see, but she remains on good terms with Harry.

'There are definitely feelings there too but a relationship with Cressida feels much more practical and realistic.'
