He's one of the most acclaimed opera singers in the world, so no doubt Nicole Scherzinger was thrilled to join Andrea Bocelli on stage for a one-off performance on Friday.

The 38-year-old former Pussycat Doll pulled out all of the stops for the occasion, wearing a nude fishtail gown which had a cut-out section at the cleavage.

The singer was pictured posing backstage ahead of the performance at Hollywood’s Dolby Theatre.

The sold-out concert event featured a musical tribute to the silver screen featuring songs from Bocelli’s forthcoming album, Cinema.

It was taped and produced for television by Thirteen WNET New York as part of the PBS Great Performances series, and other stars in attendance included John Travolta and his wife Kelly Preston.

Nicole let her dress do the talking on the night, wearing minimal accessories and tying her brunette locks up in a sleek pony.

Hollywood heavyweights: Wearing a rose-printed dress, actress Kelly Preston and her husband John Travolta were also in attendance backstage

She added a pop of colour to her look with a slick of dark berry lipstick as she posed with her hand on her hip.

Meanwhile, recent reports suggested that Nicole and fellow crooner Ed Sheeran have been dating.

But she took to Instagram to respond to claims, saying the pair were never an item with a heartfelt lip-sync of 24-year-old Ed's power ballad Thinking Out Loud.

Last week she told Huffington Post: ‘It had been going on for so long and Ed and I are good mates, so we decided to just have fun and take the mic.’

The former Pussycat Dolls vocalist is currently single after a splitting from British Formula One driver Lewis Hamilton after a seven year on-off relationship.

Nicole has been spending time in New York and has been making appearances at Fashion Week.
