Josh Murfield from Washington State believes in a photo showing a couple kissing at the top of cascading Silver Falls in Mount Rainier National Park, he captured them just after a marriage proposal
However, before Murfield could hike to the area where they were on the park's east side to let them know he snapped the apparent magical moment, the couple was gone
In the photo, the man is shown in a red top standing over the sitting woman who is in a black vest as they share a kiss.
'I think I caught the tail end of a marriage proposal when taking this shot of Silver Falls in Mount Rainier National Park yesterday,' he wrote in a Facebook post to Q13 Fox News.
'The guy at the top of the falls was on one knee in the standard position as I got ready to take the shot, and he then stood up and they kissed just as I snapped it.
'What a location for a memorable proposal!!'
Murfield said he took the photo on Sunday between 1.30 and 2.30pm and has very few clues about the couple's identity.
'By the time I hiked over to that area above the falls the couple was gone,' he told Q13 Fox News.
'Too bad, I hoped to ask them if an engagement truly happened, and if so to share the picture with them.'
He said he took the photo using a wide angle lens on the camera and regrets not zooming in closer on the couple, but said they were gone before he would have been able to switch lenses.
