'What an amazing woman': Kris Jenner posts tribute to Jackie Collins, 77, who died from breast cancer

Kris Jenner posted a moving tribute to Jackie Collins on Saturday, after hearing of the acclaimed authors death from breast cancer, aged 77.

The Kardashian matriarch took to Instagram with a photo of herself with the British writer and star.

Also in the picture with the pair was Jackie's sister Joan - all three women were smiling at the camera, and Kris could be seen leaning her head on Jackie's shoulder.

In the foreground appeared to be a selection of cocktails and drinks, and they looked like they were at a dinner.

It is clear the three women have a great rapport in the photo. 

Kris, 59, accompanied the image with the caption: 'I'm so sad to hear about the passing of Jackie Collins.

'My love and prayers go out to her family and friends and to her sister Joan..what an amazing woman.

'It was a joy and honor to have known her.'

Kris was among a host of celebrities who posted moving words after Jackie's death, many speaking about her talent, joy de vivre and bravery. 

The English novelist was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer more than six years ago but kept her illness almost entirely to herself.

A spokesman for her family said: 'It is with tremendous sadness that we announce the death of our beautiful, dynamic and one of a kind mother, Jackie Collins, who died of breast cancer today

'She lived a wonderfully full life and was adored by her family, friends and the millions of readers who she has been entertaining for over four decades.

'She was a true inspiration, a trail blazer for women in fiction and a creative force. She will live on through her characters but we already miss her beyond words.'
