The best-selling author, who is the sister of actress Joan Collins, 82, had spoken to her three daughters Tracy, 54, Tiffany, 48, and Rory, 46, about her illness. She gave an interview from her home in Beverly Hills five days ago, saying she had no regrets. Collins said she had lived life like Frank Sinatra, and 'done it my way'.

PHOENIX - A man was killed overnight after he helped a woman fend off a purse snatcher in Phoenix.

Around 12:30 a.m., officers arrived in the area of 48th Street and Interstate 10. 

Police said a few people were standing outside an apartment complex when the suspect approached and attempted to steal a 23-year-old woman's purse. 

Miguel Jose Briseno, 42, tried to help the woman, which started a fight with the alleged suspect, according to police. Briseno?s neck was cut in the process.

Police said the suspect then let go of the purse and ran away.

Police said Briseno was left bleeding from the neck after the fight. He was transported to the hospital where he died from his injuries.

Briseno?s sister told ABC15 that he was a father of three children. 

The suspect is believed to be a dark-skinned male, who was last seen wearing all black, police said.

2-month-old baby among victims found dead in SLC home; suspect in custody
SALT LAKE CITY -- Police have identified two of the three victims found dead in a Salt Lake City home Friday night. One of the victims was a 2-month-old baby girl.

Heike Poike, 50, and Lyrik Poike, 2 months old, were found shot to death. Police are working to identify the third victim.

Police discovered the bodies after an 8-year-old boy wasn?t picked up from school at the appointed time Friday afternoon. Det. Dennis McGowan, Salt Lake City PD, said the school worked to contact the boy's parents.

Several hours later, around 6 p.m., police officers went to the address listed on the boy's parents' contact information,  600 North block of Sir Phillip Drive. There was no answer when police knocked on the front door.

Assemblyman Ron Kim (inset) tackled a suspect who reportedly tried to rob a mom with a baby in Flushing, Queens on Thursday. He held the suspect down until police arrived. Now Kim says he wants to get the suspect, whom he believes has mental illness, some help.

A trio of brothers from Minnesota made history today as they took the top three spots in the 2015 Federal Duck Stamp art contest. The announcement was made by Jerome Ford, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (Service) Assistant Director for Migratory Birds, at the annual art contest, held at the National Conservation Training Center in Shepherdstown, W.V.

Joseph Hautman, of Plymouth, Minn., won the contest with his acrylic painting of a pair of trumpeter swans.  This is Hautman?s fifth Federal Duck Stamp contest win, making him one of only two artists to have his art appear on five duck stamps.

Hautman?s painting will be made into the 2016-2017 Federal Migratory Bird Hunting and Conservation Stamp, or Duck Stamp, which will go on sale in late June 2016.  The Service produces the Federal Duck Stamp, which sells for $25 and raises about $25 million each year to provide critical funds to conserve and protect wetland habitats in the National Wildlife Refuge System for the be

The mother of a child who just became one of Michigan's youngest convicted killers has been found guilty of third-degree child abuse. Prosecutors say Anita Lawhorn (bottom right) abused Jamarion Lawhorn (left) when he was 11. Jamarion, now 13, told police that he killed nine-year-old Connor Verkerke (inset left) because he wanted to die, later blaming the abuse for his poor judgement. Jamarion Lawhorn's stepfather, Bernard Harrold, had already cut a deal with prosecutors, pleading to similar third-degree child abuse charges. He faces up to two years in prison when he is sentenced next month. Lawhorn's attorney, Jeffery Crampton, tried to convince the jury that it was Harrold who left scars on the boy's legs (top right) in May 2013 but prosecutors said both parents beat the boy.
