Anna Kendrick looked calm and collected at the Mr. Right premiere on Saturday, despite the fact she almost didn't make it to the event at all.

The 30-year-old actress overcame travel issues to make a dazzling appearance at the Toronto Film Festival for her new action comedy.

Taking to the red carpet at Roy Thomson Hall, Anna looked lovely in a sequin-embellished mini dress.

She accentuated her slender legs in black pointed heels.

Completing the look, the movie star left her brunette locks loose in gentle waves and wore pretty diamond earrings.

The Up In The Air actress wore a natural make-up palette for a flawless finish.

Anna plays Martha in the new action comedy, about a girl who falls for a man (Sam Rockwell) who turns out to be a hit man on the run from the mob that he works for.

Anna Kendrick dazzled on the red carpet Toronto premiere of Mr.Right.

The Pitch Perfect star went for the two tone look in a black and pale pink dress with sequin detailing. We hands down l.o.v.e. this dress, it's fun, it's flirty and it makes Anna look like a rocker princess especially with her black leather motorcycle jacket she donned later in the night.

Sam, 46, arrived in a grey suit while co-star Michael Eklund looked dapper in a plaid suit with matching waistcoat.

Meanwhile, Anna revealed she had to overcome some logistical issues to get across the Canadian border at the weekend.

She told Toronto Sun 'It was a mess. I'm so glad you guys let me into your country. I was so close. I was almost in tears at the airport and luckily, I managed to get myself to the border via car. It was a place in Buffalo'

It turns out the Pitch Perfect star had bought a ticket to Buffalo at New York's La Guardia airport but then found out the flight took off from JFK airport instead.

She explained: 'So I got to JFK and got to Buffalo. Drove across the border at night and I got a sideways glance as I had a scan of my passport and my driver’s license and I just gave them the "Please!".

The star then gave a little high-five to the reporter to celebrate, saying 'Made it!'

Anna tweeted on Saturday night: 'Small (enormous) travel drama has delayed my TIFF arrival but I'm no quitter! Just drove across the border!!'
