Bradley Cooper cuts a low-key figure in a baseball cap and sunglasses as he hits the gym in West Hollywood

He's one of Hollywood's biggest heartthrobs.

And on Friday Bradley Cooper showed that he puts in the work to keep his hunky status, as he hit the gym in West Hollywood.

The 40-year-old looked laid-back in exercise gear as he covered up in a baseball cap while leaving the gym after a workout.

Bradley wore a loose-fitting grey T-shirt, which he coupled with a pair of black athletic shorts and coordinating black sneakers.

He covered his tousled brown hair with a blue and red baseball cap, and hid his eyes behind a pair of reflective blue sunglasses.

The Silver Linings Playbook star seemed to be in good spirits for the outing, as he sported a wide grin as he was seen leaving the gym.

He appeared to have hit the gym without model girlfriend Irina Shayk, with whom he was recently spotted checking out New York Fashion Week.

Meanwhile, the Oscar nominee recently appeared on the cover of the 15 Anniversary issue of Details magazine.

In it he spoke of his experience with cooking, which came in handy while shooting his upcoming film, Burnt.

He plays a once-great chef battling to secure his third Michelin star - and therefore redeem himself and save his reputation - in the John Wells-directed dramedy.

'I worked for most of my life as a cook. When I was 15, I was a busboy at a Greek restaurant and then I worked as a prep cook through college,' he said, of experience that helped with the role.

Bradley continued: 'My mother's side is Italian, so I grew up cooking all the time with my grandmother.'

'Thank God the role was a chef, because I didn't have much time to prep. There's no stunt double. Everything in there I'm cooking.'

The American Sniper star also revealed his goals of directing, sharing: 'I'm 40 years old. Clint Eastwood directed Play Misty For Me at 40.'

'At some point, I gotta s**t or get off the pot. Because it's fleeting, being in a place where you can create content on this level. While I'm here, I'm going to take advantage.'

Burnt, in which Bradley stars alongside Sienna Miller, Uma Thurman, and Alicia Vikander, hits theaters October 23.
