Mad Men's Christina Hendricks oozes 50s glamour as she flaunts her ample assets in retro blue dress at Emmy nominee party

She's become famous for her acting skills in Mad Men as well as her on-screen sartorial success.

And it looked as if Christina Hendricks was paying homage to the programme that launched her to global fame, as she donned a retro blue dress at the Television Academy's 67th Emmy Awards nominee party.

Showcasing her ample assets in the '50s style number, on Saturday night, the 40-year-old actress appeared to be channelling her character Joan Harris' sassy style at the event in Hollywood.

Hitting the red carpet at the Pacific Design Centre, Christina flaunted her famous curves to their full-extent in the figure-hugging garment which featured a daring low-cut neckline.

Teaming the understated dress with a pair of metallic sandal stilettos heels, the Mad Men star - who has starred in the show for its entire seven series run - further accentuated her figure.

With her hair swept back in a classic side-parting, the red-haired beauty looked every inch the epitome of the glamorous Fifties.

Highlighting her pretty feature with a subtle pallet of make-up, Christina made her eyes pop with a coat of blue eye-shadow while she gave her lips volume with a flash of contrasting ruby red lipstick.

Accessorizing with a pair of dangling earrings and printed black clutch bag, with a tasselled trail, the Drive pulled out all the stops in the style stakes.

The alabaster beauty was accompanied to the event by her doting husband, Geoffrey Arend, who looked as if he'd followed his wife's lead and worn a '50s inspired suave suit.

Thanks to her stint on the hugely successful Mad Men, Christina has been nominated for best Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series at Sunday night's ceremony.

Since Mad Men ended, Christina - who has been married to Geoffrey for six years - has been focusing on building her movie career.

She starred with Charlize Theron in Dark Places, the big screen adaptation of the novel by Gone Girl author Gillian Flynn released this summer.

And she recently wrapped filming on The Neon Demon with Keanu Reeves, Jena Malone and Elle Fanning that's scheduled for a March 2016 release.

The horror thriller centers around a young model who moves to LA and has her youth and vitality devoured by a group of beauty-obsessed women.
