'We had to let the back out': Pregnant Cat Deeley debuts her baby bump in glamorous gown as she and her husband Patrick Kielty put on a show at the Emmys

She may be pregnant but TV presenter Cat Deeley is sticking to her vow never to look 'mumsy' on a red carpet.

The 38-year-old Brit showed off her blossoming baby bump in a daring metallic Monique Lhuillier designer gown with a plunging neckline.

The figure-hugging dress was clingy in all the right places and Cat completed her 'goddess' look by leaving her long blonde hair loose and cascading down one shoulder.

The Emmy-nominated host of So You Think You Can Dance told E! host Giuliana Rancic that she managed 'to squeeze' into her gown but 'we had to let out the back a little bit' to accommodate her tummy.

She'd already told People last week that she wasn't planning to sacrifice her sense of fashion in favor of pregnancy outfits.

'The first week after I announced it, I was like, ‘I am wearing my highest Christian Louboutins this week,’' she said. 'I am not going to get mumsy!'

Cat told E! she doesn't yet know the sex of her baby but plans to find out ahead of the birth.

'I'm 38 and it's such a lifestyle change for us, so I think it would be really nice to know if it's a little boy or girl,' she said.

Get that glow like Cat Deeley in Monique Lhuillier

Cat Deeley was a vision in gold at the Emmys in her sparkling fully beaded Monique Lhuillier dress. We love how the dress just highlighted her burgeoning baby bump.

The art deco design of the dress reflected not only light but how the designer took inspiration from the 1920s for her fall 2015 collection. Lhuillier not only does red carpet, gala gowns but also has a strong bridal collection as well. When you want drama and femininity, you go to this designer!

Although you wouldn't necessarily attend your mate's birthday bash in a gown like this, you can certainly take inspiration from Cat's style and go for gold on your next evening out. It'll certainly make a change from the old LBD.

So get inspired at emulate Cat's look in a more subtle sense by checking out the affordable alternatives in the edit below, ranging from Romwe to Adriana Papell and ASOS - all budgets covered.
