Will the Duchess of Cambridge be wearing Issa's designs come summer? Label loved by Kate unveils chic fashion week collection

  • Jamie O'Hare unveiled second collection for Issa
  • Called on ultimate IT girl, Lily Donaldson, to showcase his collection
  • Elsewhere, Sophia Webster unveiled kitsch accessories range
  • Lizzy Jagger and Alice Dellal walked in Vivienne Westwood Red Label show

It's a label adored by the Duchess of Cambridge - and the one she wore to announce her engagement to Prince William in 2010.

But with a new creative director taking over the helm at Issa last season, there was potential for a huge shake-up.

Luckily for Kate - and Issa's army of loyal fans - creative director Jamie O'Hare stuck to the tried-and-tested method that has made the brand so popular in royal circles but put a fresh spin on it in his second collection for the label.

Calling on catwalk stalwart and ultimate IT girl, Lily Donaldson, to showcase his collection, O'Hare served up clean, crisp summer clothes with the kind of clever tailoring that will make his designs a staple among the fash-pack.

Taking the geometric patterns found in nature as his point of reference, dresses were emblazoned with bold prints, injections of neon and fabric origami.

Dresses, which the label is known for doing so well, came with draping, plunging necklines and no backs, whilst jumpsuits sent Twitter into a frenzy.

Elsewhere at London Fashion Week, kitsch accessories designer Sophia Webster injected some fun into proceedings with her mermaid-inspired show.

The designer, who is loved by Kendall Jenner, served up glittering platforms, bejewelled swimming caps, and totes emblazoned with phrases such as 'well jelly' and 'beach babe'.

Lisa Potter-Dixon, Head Make-up and Trend Artist at Benefit Cosmetics, was tasked with making over the models backstage and she went underwater for her inspiration.

'The beautiful, iridescent glow of the girls' skin mirrors the dreamy underwater theme of the show,' she told us backstage on Sunday morning.

'Whilst the touch of glitter and lashings of blue mascara add that pop of magical fun that Sophia's designs are renowned for.'

Previewing an exciting new launch for the brand - the They're Real Tinted Primer - Lisa gave the girls' lashes a boost before creating a wet look brow using gloss and adding a touch of glitter to eyes to resemble crushed pearls.

Likewise, St Tropez's Jules Heptonstall created wet look skin using body oils to create the look of a mermaid surfacing from the ocean.

Right before the girls hit the runway, he spritzed body mist over their skin to resemble water droplets.
