With England Rugby's World Cup stars Jonny May and Alex Corbisiero eagerly awaiting the first match of their home tournament against Fiji on Friday, they have taken some time off to do their bit for charity.

The pair teamed up with Zizzi on Monday to create their own flavour of pizza to support the restaurant group's Cancer Research UK campaign and raise funds for Stand Up to Cancer.

When any customer orders either May and Corbisiero's pizzas, a 50p donation will be made to the charity, which aims to raise £1million over the next three years.

Gloucester's 25-year-old wing, May, went for a Lamb Meatball Rustica design and has said: 'I'm thrilled to be working with Zizzi on this great campaign for such an important cause.

'We had a lot of fun coming up with our pizzas and hope they will rival those already on the menu. I am hoping my pizza will help make a difference and raise plenty of money.'

His pizza consists of a traditional base, with roast lamb and red pepper meatballs, as well as mozzarella cheese, tomatoes, roast garlic cloves, spinach, crushed chillies, thyme and garlic oil.

Meanwhile, Corbisiero seemed to thrive on the experimental side of the day: 'Being a kid with Italian American heritage on my dad's side, I've grown up with a lot of pizza in my life,' the Northampton Saints loosehead prop told Zizzi's official website.

'I've been gluten-free now for four-and-a-bit years. I think, initially, saying goodbye to pizza was probably the hardest part.

'Now, at restaurants like Zizzi, and everything, they've given the opportunity so I can have my gluten-free pizza and still enjoy one of my favourite foods.

And on his Pesto Pollo Classic creation he said: 'So my pizza: you can have it (as a) regular or gluten-free base.

'It's got chicken on it, it's got Prosciutto, garlic, a pesto base layer, instead of a traditional tomato base. I enjoy it.

'It's got meat on it, as well, so you're getting your protein in and I can't see anyone eating it and complaining.'
