Stand tall in Helena's Stella McCartney platforms

Well she's always had a taste for the eccentric, there's no denying that!

And today was no exception for her goth inspired flair for Edwardian dressing but what really got our fashion feelings burning were her platform Stella McCartney shoes, imbued in that rich burgundy color.

Say what you will about these clodhoppers, but they have grown quite a celebrity following with everyone from Gwyneth Paltrow, to Kourtney Kardashian and Cara Delevingne spotted wearing these height enhancing oxfords.

They are such a statement piece, so we suggest you style them with simple boyfriend jeans or like Kourtney-- with cutoff denim shorts.

Flashing her alabaster skin in a knee-grazing floral dress, Helena added her usual gothic twist to the ensemble, donning the black overcoat to keep the Autumn chill at bay.

Tottering around in a pair of her pricey towering ox-blood brogue wedges, the actress finished her ensemble off with a pair of black lace socks which featured trail embellishments.

With her long red hair hastily tied back in bows, she channelled a wind-swept look on the grey day.

She accessorized her flower-Goth outfit with a selection of jewellery and a black leather handbag, whilst she also had appeared to have made a couple of purchases from Cop Copine.

Obviously keen to enjoy some time in her native London, Helena could be seen sharing a rare smile with her friend.

The mother-of-two's next project is a starring role in writer Nick Hornby’s first TV drama - Love, Nina - based on the memoirs of a nanny who worked for some of the leading lights of literary London.

The mini-series, which will go out over five half-hour episodes on BBC1, is based on Nina Stibbe’s award-winning book of the same name.

The drama reunites Bonham Carter with director SJ Clarkson, they last worked together on BBC1 drama Toast, based on the autobiographical novel by food writer Nigel Slater.

The unconventional couple met on the set of 2001’s Planet of the Apes, which Burton directed, and went on to collaborate on a number of films including Corpse Bride, Charlie And The Chocolate Factory and Sweeney Todd.

The couple, who separated amicably, have two children together; Billy and Nell, seven.
