Sandra Lee made her first red carpet appearance since undergoing emergency surgery at the Emmy Awards on Sunday night.

The popular television personality wore a plunging pink gown and looked healthy and happy as she posed for photographers just over a month after she was rushed to the hospital following unknown complications resulting from her recent double mastectomy in May.

Lee underwent the procedure after being diagnosed with breast cancer earlier this year, and on Sunday she paid tribute to author Jackie Collins, who suddenly passed away from the disease on Saturday.

'I was so sad and devastated,' Lee told Entertainment Tonight of Collins' death.

'It is a true testament to the non-negotiation with cancer, regardless of the stage. She lived her life so beautifully and we should all honor her.'

She then added; 'She was a private person and I admire her so much. She's so accomplished, I just hope that the last five years were the best of her whole life.'

Collins passed away at the age of 77 after privately battling the disease.

Shortly after the Emmy Awards on Sunday, Lee posted a message to her fans on her Facebook page updating them on her recent health scare.

'The last infection threw me a bit and I decided to focus and redirect all my energies internally. I physically and emotionally just needed to be silent and still while I healed,' wrote Lee.

'This has been an unreal chain of events in my life. I am still stunned, still digesting and still processing everything that has taken place this past year.'

She also announced that the website she had been working on with her team was almost complete, and shared a photo of herself with her longtime boyfriend and governor of New York Andrew Cuomo taken while she was recovering last month.

'I hope the site will become your go to place for everything from food to fun fashion and even Street Smart finds,' said Lee of the website.

She also revealed she will be sitting down with Robin Roberts on Good Morning America this week for a new interview.
