'Nothing has changed': Kim Zolciak returns to childhood home in Connecticut on Don't Be Tardy after leaving state 16 years ago

Kim Zolciak-Biermann took a stroll down memory lane on Sunday as she showed husband Kroy her hometown on Don't Be Tardy.

The curvy reality star looked every inch the gawky youngster in flashback photos she shared while retracing her childhood in Connecticut.

She was visiting the state where she was raised for a public appearance at a casino for the first time since leaving 16 years ago.

'I am so excited to go back to Connecticut, I have not been back in 16 years. I am doing an appearance at the Mohegan Sun Casino that I used to gamble at', Kim revealed.

Kim was also set to meet up with girlfriends she has not seen in years.

'I am sure they all look the same, I am just wondering what they will think of me,' she told assistant Gloria as she readied to leave for the trip.

'I mean I had blonde hair and big t***s back then so not much has changed,' Kim quipped.

Kim left Windsor Locks, Connecticut after graduating from nursing school when daughter Brielle was just aged two.

'What the f***, nothing has changed. This is exactly what it looked like,' she told Kroy as they drove around her old hometown as old photos were flashed of an awkward-looking teenage Kim.

'I grew up in Windsor Locks in the 80s and 90s and I was just hell on wheels back then, I guess I still am.

'I just loved boys and hated school and I don't think my parents thought I would amount to anything.'

Kim revealed she got fired from the Burger King for handing out free food to friends through the drive-in window.

She then took Kroy past the old apartment complex where she was pregnant with Brielle and brought her up.

'This is so crazy, I cannot believe it. It was scary as s***,' she said.

Kim said she lived there at the age of 19 when she had Brielle and was a single mother trying to finish school while working to provide for her daughter.

Kim and Kroy then met four of her old friends and they were amused that she had picked up a Southern accent.

The friends then broke out more old photos of a young Kim and some old boyfriends.

Kim told her friends that she never saw her brother and that her relationship with her 'toxic' parents had broken down.

'They did horrible things to me during my years in Atlanta. I just let it go and let it go because they are your parents and they can do no wrong. Then finally I woke up and said ''I am done with you guys'',' she said.

'My mom would charge me as a single mom to look after my kids at night, $100 at night so I could work as a nurse. It was terrible,' Kim said.

Kim told her old pals she did not think she could ever salvage her relationship with her parents - after they spoke negatively to the media about her.

'I honestly don't know what my life would have been if I had stayed in Windsor Locks. I would probably have married someone I went to high school with as I didn't know any different,' she said.

Kim then showed Kroy where she used to throw tomatoes at passing cars before taking him to see her childhood home.

And when she saw the current homeowners Kim could not resist saying hello and they were thrilled to let her look around.

'Being back in Windsor Locks I just feel like a normal person so to see these people freaking out reminds you that you are in the public eye,' she said.

'How sweet of them to let me and see,' she added.

And outside the house Kim found the concrete slab she had scratched her name into as a youngster.

'I thought that was going to be my Hollywood Star,' she told Kroy.

'Never in a million years did I imagine I would be where I am today.'
