Bill Murray was one of the big winners at Sunday night's Emmy Awards, but the actor was a no-show at the ceremony.

Murray picked up a trophy for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Miniseries or a Movie for his role in the HBO mini-series Olive Kitteridge, but was nowhere to be found after presenters Maggie Gyllenhaal and Liev Schreiber called out his name.

Many on Twitter had some fun wondering just where Murray might be, but it turns out he had a prior obligation - his son's wedding.

Philly.com learned that Murray was in town for his son's big wedding, and apparently having a very good time judging from accounts of him drinking until the early morning hours at local bars in the city.

This was all for his son Luke, an assistant men’s basketball coach at Ohio's Xavier University whose wedding to South Philly native Kara Cassidy took place on Sunday.

'I hear Bill was very generous with gifts for the wedding couple helping out with the most beautiful wedding to hit the Bellevue since Sabrina Tamburino Thorne's,' wrote local blogger Hugh E. Dillon, referencing both the swank Center City hotel where the ceremony took place and comparing it to the wedding of a local resident to a millionaire back in 2009 at the same venue.

'He also paid for all the groomsman's tuxes and rented out the 27th floor at the Bellevue Hyatt for bridal party preparations and rooms for the guests to stay.'

His fellow Kitteredge costars were having their own party as well on Sunday, with the HBO mini-series sweeping every single category it was nominated for but one, winning awards for its screenplay, direction, leading actress Frances McDormand, leading actor Richard Jenkins and Best Mini-Series.

Twitter soon erupted with tweets of many wondering just where Murray could be, given the actor's penchant for showing up at the most unexpected places at unexpected times.

Ironically, many of those tweets had Murray crashing a wedding.
