Outlaws, shot on location in Mexico, was directed by Geremy Jasper and produced by Liv Tyler - who is dating David's best friend Dave Gardner.

It also stars Harvey Keitel, Inherent Vice star Katherine Waterston and Raging Bull's Cathy Moriarty.

The film is described as 'surreal film within a film starring The Stranger', a mysterious drifter and motorcycle stuntman, haunted by memories of a beautiful trapeze artist and hunted by a maniacal director seeking revenge.

David enthused: 'I always love to challenge myself. Filming Outlaws in the Mexican desert with Belstaff and the Legs team – not to mention working alongside Harvey, Cathy and Katherine – was an adventure I will never forget!'

Recently, David denied speculation he was being lined up to play James Bond, but admitted he was hoping to try out an acting career.

He told The Times: 'I am very aware that many sportsmen and other celebrities have turned their hand to acting and failed.

'I know that it is a tough profession, where you need a huge amount of skill and discipline, and I wouldn't want to push myself forward too soon, without learning more about it, and doing a lot more practice.

'But what I have done so far, I have loved. I can deal with most things. I am a well-known person, so I have got used to criticism.'

But while a career on the silver screen may be looming, the internationally recognized sports star and fashion icon also wishes that he could be invisible at times.

Talking to Belstaff, the Manchester United legend revealed that if he could have any power in the world, it would be the ability to make himself disappear for the day.

He explaining: 'My son asks me this all the time...what would it be? I would be invisible for the day.'

However, the budding actor - who has sons Brooklyn, 16, Romeo, 13 and Cruz, 10 and four-year-old daughter Harper with Victoria Beckham - is glad of his international status and success.

Finding the silver-lining to his global fame, the London-born star admitted it has allowed him to promote good causes to a wider audience, such as, protecting the rain forest.

He said previously: 'The Amazon was the only part of the world where I've actually not been recognised. The tribe where we visited didn't even know what football was. That kind of gave me a bit of a boost.

'My life has never just been about the football, there's no way people can underestimate the power of what I've achieved and why I'm sitting here now [with UNICEF].

'This is why what I've done over the last 22 years has been important, not just on the field but off it too. It has opened doors.'

Outlaws for Belstaff will be released on 22 September.
