'They are both strict': Brooklyn Beckham spills the beans about Victoria and David's parenting styles... and admits he gets told off for playing football in the house

  • Brooklyn Beckham says both mum Victoria and dad David are strict
  • But Victoria admits 'They will not stop playing football in the house'
  • His famous parents control the 16-year-old's Instagram posts

Brooklyn Beckham has revealed his parents Victoria and David are 'strict', but the couple's eldest son also admitted that he thinks they are 'really cool'.

The 16-year-old has confessed he gets told off for playing football in the house by his fashion designer mother - who is 'constantly telling us' not to play the game indoors.

Brooklyn told Miss Vogue: 'They're both strict, but about different things.'

One thing that it seems David and Victoria are both apparently laidback about, though, is a curfew for the teenager.

He said: 'My parents are really cool and I never get in that late anyway.'

While Victoria struggles to stop them from having an indoor kickabout, it seems she and David are successful in ensuring their children have good manners.

'We've always been strict with the children. They have great manners - they always say "please" and "thank you" and I think that's important,' the former Spice Girl told Good Morning America in an interview ahead of her show at New York Fashion Week.

'They're still fun and they still run around the house and they're still crazy and they're dancing and they're kicking footballs around, which I don't allow them to do.

'That seems to be the one area I can't discipline them, they will not stop playing football in the house,' she added.

Husband David said in his interview with ABC last week that he and Victoria check that their eldest son is coming across well on social media.

And they have good reason to, with Brooklyn currently boasting 4.4million followers on Instagram.

'We control everything that he posts, everything that he does, and it's the same with our other kids,' said David, referencing 13-year-old Romeo, 10-year-old Cruz and four-year-old Harper - although the others are yet to have public social media accounts.

He also claimed that Victoria was 'the strict one in the house'.

Although the kids love to have a kickabout in the house, it seems they don't necessarily plan to follow in their famous father's footsteps.

Brooklyn told Miss Vogue: 'I love football, but I'm also very passionate about photography and film.

'I'm keeping my options open right now.'

David Beckham has admitted he is 'heartbroken' that his son (although he didn't say which one) will not follow his footsteps in to football. Meanwhile, Brooklyn has admitted that he is 'keeping his options open' when it comes to his career as he has a passion for photography and film as well as football

And in the same interview with ABC, David admitted he was 'heartbroken' when one of his sons said they weren't sure they wanted to play football anymore.

'One of my boys turned around to me the other day and said, 'Daddy, you know, I'm not sure I want to play football all the time...'

'It broke my heart a little bit,' he said.

Indeed, the reasoning behind his son's confession is pretty heartbreaking.

David said his son told him: 'Every time that I step onto the field, I know people are saying, "This is David Beckham's son", and if I'm not as good as you, then it's not good enough.'

'I said, "Okay, stop right there... You play because you want to play".'

Victoria, on the other hand, would arguably be thrilled at her son's admission as she confessed it felt like a 'dagger in the heart' when her only daughter said she wanted to play football too.

The designer joked, 'I have three boys who want to play football, come on, let one of them want to be in fashion or dance.'
