Heida Reed reprises her role as Ross Poldark's first love Elizabeth as she joins co-star Jack Farthing on the set of popular period drama in Cornwall

She plays leading man Ross Poldark’s first love, the delicate and beautiful Elizabeth Chynoweth.

And on Monday, Heida Reed certainly looked the part as filming for the second series of the much-loved period drama got underway in Penzance, Cornwall.

The 27-year-old, who was joined by co-star Jack Farthing, was dressed in full 18th century costume - a blue vintage dress, consisting of a billowing skirt and a coordinating bodice.

A velvet-like jacket and an elaborate wide-brimmed hat added an extra layer of warmth to the proceedings as well as a chic pair of leather gloves.

Meanwhile, Jack looked the epitome of an 18th century gent in a burgundy great coat, black trousers and a grey waistcoat and white shirt.

Dressed in character, the British actor - who plays Ross' archenemy and sly banker George Warleggan - was styled further with a black top hat and leather riding boots.

Meanwhile, shooting kicked off earlier this month with Aidan Turner reprising his titular role as Captain Ross, while Eleanor Tomlinson returned to the scene as his servant-girl wife Demelza.

And while exact details concerning the latest plot are being kept under wraps, fans are in for a treat.
