Watch out Avon ladies! Tyra Banks is set to ‘shake up the beauty world’ with new door-to-door cosmetic company

  • The 41-year-old supermodel's company will be training 'beautytainers' to sell her line of make-up using social media and at-home parties

Tyra Banks is about to begin peddling the wares from her beauty brand directly to the people.

And, to get feet on the ground, the supermodel has opened enrollment to her so-called 'TYRA University,' where 'beautytainers' will be trained in the 'art of tooching booties, strutting thighs, posing tips, and smizing eyes!'

'I am charged with shaking up the world of direct selling and want future entrepreneurs like you with that same passion to revolutionize the beauty industry,' Tyra, 41, wrote in the open call on her site.

The initial training at TYRA-U costs $59 team and trainees will eventually be in charge of selling Tyra's successful brand of eye, face and lip products and will have power over how they do it - whether that be via social media, at-home parties or through other ventures.

'People betta recognize just how fierce you are,' Tyra tells her prospective employees. 'I am ready to turn up the volume so we can all throw our hands up as you each take charge of your badass beauty biz.'

The brand, which Tyra launched back in October 2014, was entirely self-funded, with just 14 items available online. The direct channel was later added in March.

Keeping it quirky: Like their namesake spokeswoman, the beauty products have fun buzzword names like Oops Liner and Smack My Fat Lash

The products include lipsticks, eyeliners and various other beauty accessories, with names that reflect the model's quirky personality including Smack My Fat Lash, Oops Liner and the 4 Minute TYover beauty kit. The prices range from $18 to $63.50.

The America's Next Top Model star's decision to foray into the direct-selling business is likely influenced by her general manager Anita Krpata who, before getting involved with Tyra, was global vice president field development for Stella & Dot - a direct-selling jewelry company.

'With the help of our pre-launch Beautytainers, we have spent this year planning, experimenting and refining to develop the best business opportunity available,' Anita told WWD.com. 'We don’t do ho-hum or straight up; we create experiences that will transform.'

For the masses: The products run from $18 to $63.50 in price and also include the 4 Minute TYover beauty kit with contouring tools

Business is not only hurtling forward for the model, but her TV career is also thriving. The 41-year-old even recently revealed that she believes that quitting modelling to take on other career avenues was 'the smartest business decision I ever made.

'I love Victoria’s Secret,' she explained to ABC - who helped her launch her brand new talk show Fab Life. 'They’ve done so much for me. But I felt like I couldn’t be posing in my panties and telling a girl about self-esteem or teaching women how to lead their futures.'

She also explained how she hopes her foray into the direct selling business will have such a positive on ambitious women to become more independent.

'It’s really important for me to empower people, particularly women to have financial freedom, because my mom she stayed with my dad way too long and she always says it’s because she didn’t have her own money and that inspires me,' she said.
