'That was Michael Myers!' Lea Michele turns 'scream queen' when she gets pranked by man in killer mask from Halloween on Ellen

Lea Michele's dream would be to watch the spine-chilling 1978 horror flick Halloween with her new co-star Jamie Lee Curtis.

The 29-year-old star of Fox's new show Scream Queens got the living daylights scared out of her just visiting The Ellen DeGeneres Show on Tuesday.

Just as Lea was talking about her special movie night, a man dressed up as the deranged killer psychopath popped out from the coffee table.

Lea was laughing and screaming, and perhaps only half joking when she told Ellen, 'I'm not coming on your show again. That was him! That was Michael Myers!'

The conversation began tame enough as Lea raved about Scream Queens, the show's creatorr Ryan Murphy and the shooting locale of New Orleans, Louisiana, ahead of its Tuesday night premiere on Fox.

Lea was dressed in a black and blue mesh dress that showed off her toned waistline, and her hair was pulled back into a neat ponytail.

'Ryan is so incredible,' Lea gushed to Ellen. 'I think he's done it yet again, bringing back this horror comedy genre... I grew up watching Heathers, Jawrbeakers.

Show it off in a sheer panel dress like Lea Michele

Lea Michele made a stylish appearance on the Ellen show when she arrived in a lace dress by Jonathan Simkhai.

The Scream Queens star teamed her figure hugging midi dress with a pair of two-tone Christian Louboutin sandals.

Sheer mesh panels are a huge trend this season and the bustier top is universally flattering, especially for those who are smaller up top.

Sadly this exact dress is no longer up for grabs, but you can get a nearly identical version at Intermix with a click to the right.

Or try a more wallet friendly version from the carousel below. Our top pick is this BCBG number. The dotted sheer bodice is very Simkhai-esque and it's on sale for less than $200.

'This is of the same vein. We're all in a sorority and there's a killer coming after us,' she said breathily.

She also raved about shooting in New Orleans, telling Ellen: 'The restaurants are great. Everyone there is so wonderful to us and so welcoming.'

(Lea later added that 'to counter balance that,' she and co-star Emma Roberts have been doing lots of Pilates together.)

'Swamp tours are great,' Lea added. 'I fed a gator. I did the whole thing.'

'They eat on their own. No one needs to go feed them. There's no need for that,' Ellen quipped in return.

The former Glee star also had a special wish that involves the original 'Scream Queen' Jamie Lee Curtis, who starred in the 1978 cult favourite Halloween

'I have a dream to get Jamie Lee Curtis to watch Halloween with me, just us,' Lea shared.

As Ellen and Lea were chatting about the talk show host joining the cosy movie night with Curtis, a man wearing a Michael Myers mask jumped out of the coffee table and scared the daylights out of the young actress.

Lea screamed and squealed, covering up her face with her hands.

'That’s it. I’m not coming on your show again,' Lea told Ellen, perhaps half-jokingly.

'That was him! That was Michael Myers!' Lea wailed.
