Rough night Maggie? Gyllenhaal keeps her head down and looks dishevelled as she leads host of stars jetting out of LA following Emmys

She had doubtlessly had a night to remember as she revelled at the post-Emmys parties.

But Maggie Gyllenhaal also looked like she had a morning to forget as she got ready to jet out of Los Angeles on Monday.

The sexy actress looked tired and dishevelled as she clambered out of her car and got ready to catch a flight at the bustling LAX Airport.

The 37-year-old Honorable Woman actress vainly tried to keep a low profile in a black pullover, trousers, and flip flops, going so far as to keep her head down as she shuffled into the departure lounge.

However perhaps the most striking part of her appearance washer oversized red-tinted sunglasses, which kept her eyes hidden.

It was a disappointing night for Maggie, who lost out on the outstanding lead actress in a miniseries or a movie award to Olive Kitteridge star Frances McDormand.

No doubt the Dark Knight favourite got over her sadness by having a good time with friends afterwards however.

Saucy Maggie was not the only one who was causing a stir at the busy transport hub following the Emmys however.

Another star looking a bit ruff, but for completely different reasons, was fellow loser Taraji P. Henson.

For the Empire star, who lost out  outstanding lead actress in a drama series paperweight to How To Get Away With Murder's Viola Davis, had brought along her pet Yorkshire Terrier as hand luggage.

The 45-year-old was looking good for her age in a long-sleeved green dress, baseball cap, open-tied boots and comically oversized sunglasses.

Other big names who were jetting out from the city of angels included Jane Krakowski, Laura Prepon and Star Wars star Adam Driver.

Maggie shouldn't be too disappointed that she walked away empty handed, as she still won a string of awards for the performance, including a Golden Globe.

The series follows Nessa, who finds herself in an international maelstrom working for reconciliation between Israelis and Palestinians after inheriting her father's arms business.

Maggie will next be seen on the silver screen in the film, Three Seconds, which is reportedly in pre-production.
