Let it all out! Willow Smith, 14, spars with lookalike parents and sheds tears in video for coming-of-age song Why Don't You Cry

Willow Smith shed tears in her new video aptly titled Why Don't You Cry.

The 14-year-old singer came up with the concept and visuals for the new song, according to the video's caption on YouTube.

The video made in collaboration with i-D magazine opened with Willow wearing a grey hoodie and red dot on her forehead.

The next scene showed her worried look-alike parents fretting over her absence.

The singer is the daughter of Hollywood superstar Will Smith, 46, and actress Jada Pinkett Smith, 44.

Her father in the video was played by Will's friend Duane Martin, 50, while her mother was portrayed by 44-year-old Nicole Ari Parker.

The coming-of-age video showed Willow sparring with her parents and her father tearing up a flier for her show.

Willow appeared to perform at the show anyway with her older 22-year-old brother Trey Smith from her father's first marriage.

Trey also appeared in Will's music video for the 1998 single Just The Two Of Us.

The video shows Willow's character dancing in a blue jumpsuit and later crying with two yellow dots under her eyes.

'When she is backstage letting out the last bits of her tears, the higher self appears and is ready to become one again - through the teenage girls emotional release. She has come to terms with her divinity,' Willow told i-D magazine.

Willow also has an older brother Jaden, 17, who was featured on her last single titled 5.
