They may have a combined age of 241, but it hasn't slowed these Hollywood veterans down on the set of their new movie.

Morgan Freeman, Michael Caine and Alan Arkin were seen getting stuck into some action scenes on Monday, as they continued filming bank heist film Going In Style in New York.

Morgan, 78, had every right to be looking a little hot and bothered as he pulled off a face mask, which his character was wearing for the stick up.

Filming on the comedy is likely a welcome distraction for Morgan, who recently experienced a major personal tragedy.

The actor's step-granddaughter, E'Dena Hines, was murdered in New York City in August.

Her boyfriend, 30-year-old Lamar Davenport, has been charged with second-degree murder in connection the deadly stabbing.

E'Dena was the granddaughter of Morgan's first wife, Jeanette Adair Bradshaw, and his regular companion on the red carpet.

Sadness: Michael was seen in another suit later - he looked very sombre, possibly the moment in the film where the three men's characters discover they have all lost their pensions
