Bling Ring leader Nick Prugo back behind bars as he's charged in bizarre plot to solicit the rape of woman who befriended him after his prison release

The leader of the so-called Hollywood Bling Ring is back behind bars after being arrested in a bizarre plot to find someone to rape a woman acquaintance.

Nick Prugo, 24, is set to be arraigned Wednesday in Los Angeles, according to TMZ, after being arrested and charged with solicitation to commit sexual assault and with three counts of stalking.

A friend Edward Feinstein, 29, was also arrested and charged with the same crimes, according to the website.

The intended victim in the plot was Dawn DaLuise, 56, a former skin care specialist to the stars who in January was found not guilty on all counts in an alleged murder-for-hire plot.

DaLuise was alleged to have wanted to have a business rival murdered.

After her acquittal, she claimed she had been framed by Prugo, whom she had befriended after his release from prison in April 2013, and his roommate Feinstein.

Prugo had served half of a two-year sentence for his role as the mastermind behind a string of burglaries at the homes of Hollywood celebrities including Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan and Orlando Bloom.

According to an article published by The Daily Beast in April this year, DaLuise believed she could get Prugo his own reality show.

But after a while, their relationship fell apart and she dropped him as a client, she told The Daily Beast.

Then in 2014, the beautician's name, phone number and address began appearing on 'free sex' fliers that also had her head photoshopped onto pornographic images.

An ad appeared online on Craigslist inviting men to her home to act out their rape fantasies.

It was during a police investigation of these events that detectives discovered emails and texts purporting to be from DaLuise seeking to hire someone to kill rival salon owner Gabrial Suarez.

It's that Craigslist ad that Prugo and Feinstein are now charged with placing, TMZ reported Tuesday, adding that prosecutors want Prugo's bail set at $485k.

Prugo found infamy at 18 as the mastermind behind a series of burglaries at the homes of Hollywood celebrities by a group of youngsters from the upscale community of Calabasas.

He and former best friend Rachel Lee netted more than $3 million in jewelry, high-end clothes and art as they robbed the celebrity homes with other friends from high school in 2008 and 2009.

Prugo said after being caught that he had come up with the plan as a way to fund his cocaine habit.

The story was portrayed and slightly fictionalized in Sofia Coppola's 2013 film The Bling Ring.
