Megan, 22, posts pictures of herself in a bikini on Instagram after recovering from anorexia
She developed the eating disorder in 2007 and blames an unhealthy friendship for 'coaching' her towards it
Megan wrote on her website about her struggle with anorexia and now describes herself as a body positive 'warrior'.
She said it started through a friendship that was unhealthy for both girls.
She wrote on her site: 'I had a fleeting and intense friendship with the new girl in school.
'We spent every day together, drowning each other in our insecurities.'
She said the friendship was 'coaching' both of the girls towards an eating disorder.
She wrote they would be 'sneaking out of the house at 6am to go running, or playing badminton for hours and hours in my garden, eventually crawling inside and feeding our exhaustion with mountains of biscuits and cakes.
Megan now wants to spread her message of body positivity and has more than 33,000 followers on Instagram
She shares a fun image of herself in a crop top in a bid help others to recover from anorexia
Megan was extremely thin during her eating disorder, left, but she has been able to recover with strength and determination, right, and wants to help others to do the same
'What we were really doing was coaching each other towards the eating disorders we were both teetering on the edge of. We didn't see the harm being done, or realise how toxic our friendship was.'
She said she was just relieved to find someone to wallow in self-hatred with.
Later Megan lost touch with her former friend after she moved away.
With her gone, Megan fell further into the depths of her eating disorder.
Now, years later, she is recovered and says on her blog it was down to willpower and making the commitment.
Megan wrote: 'The bottom line is that you deserve to feel good about your body.
'You deserve to live your life fully without the looming specter of how you look the whole time.
She wants people to change their outlook on body image and find beauty in other people as well as themselves
'You deserve to feel beautiful, and you deserve to know that your worth extends so far beyond superficial beauty.'
Megan added that people can start by seeing 'the beauty in your friends and family, and know that they see it in you too'.
She wants people to change their outlook and change what they see, posting pics of plus-size models and women who don't look like the model norm.
Megan's posts on Instagram are upbeat and she regularly posts photographs of herself in bikinis and in underwear.
In one recent picture of herself in a black bra, she captioned it: 'This belly roll babe is going on an adventure.'
Her 23,300 followers on Instagram can't get enough of her positivity and regular selfies.
She also hopes her website can help others going through recovery for eating disorders.
