The premise of the series is that it's a reality show following the lives and loves of the Muppets as they work on a talk show called Up Late With Miss Piggy.

It's like The Newsroom meets The Office meets Keeping Up With The Kardashians with The Tonight Show as the theme.

Kermit is the show's executive producer, Gonzo the head writer and Scooter the talent booker while The Electric Mayhem is the in-house band.

In the season opener, Miss Piggy learns the guest booked on her show that night is actress Elizabeth Banks and she throws a major wobbly.

She utterly refuses to have her on the show and demands Kermit find a replacement.

Scooter taps DWTS host Tom Bergeron to step in as a last minute fill-in.

Gonzo suggests the TV personality could host a segment called Dancing With The Czars - as Muppets pop up dressed as Catherine The Great and a Russian Cossack.

'Why did she cancel Elizabeth Banks?' Kermit moans as he sits at his desk eating.

'Well. they do have a history,' Denise informs him.

She then opens up a laptop to play a video of Miss Piggy's screen test with Banks for the part of Katniss Everdeen in The Hunger Games.

Banks begins by reading the line: 'The time has come to select this district's tribute to the hunger games.....'

'Oh pick me, pick me!' Miss Piggy shouts.

Banks tries to explain that she really doesn't wnat to be picked becuase she could die.

'Well, I'm dying of hunger and these are the hunger games...' MIss Piggy retorts before turning her back on the actress who walks off camera.

Kermit says he's going to bring the Banks on the show anyway over Miss Piggy's objections but when he tells her of his decision, she storms away from him.

When he runs after her, she explains it's nothing to do with the audition but the fact that Kermit dumped her outside the movie theatre as they went on a date night to see Banks' film Pitch Perfect 2.
