Happy Days star Scott Baio takes centre stage at charity bash... 40 years after he was cast as The Fonz's cousin Chachi Arcola

It's been 40 years since Scott Baio was cast at The Fonz's younger cousin Chachi Arcola on Happy Days.

But the actor-turned-director took centre stage as he hosted a charity golf tournament at the Woodland Hills Country Club in California on Monday.

And the 55-year-old invited his former Happy Days co-stars Marion Ross (Marion Cunningham) and Don Most (Ralph Malph) along to join him as he raised funds for The Bailey Baio Angel Foundation, which supports children and families affected by metabolic disorders.

Now and then: It's been 40 years since Scott Baio was cast at The Fonz's younger cousin Chachi Arcola in Happy Days

The former co-stars were in high spirits and were all flashing big bright smiles as they enjoyed a mini reunion.

Scott put an affectionate arm around Marion as they posed for photos before teaming up with Don Most for some more snaps.

The trio were also joined by veteran actor Robert Hays and Scott wife and daughter were also in tow to show their support.

Scott joined Happy Days at the age of 16 having laded the part of Bugsy Malone in the cult children's gangster musical, which also co-starred Jodie Foster, at the age of 13.

And because he grew up on TV, he says he missed out on a childhood, although he doesn’t consider himself a child actor having started out aged nine.

Speaking to The Washington Times, he said: I was a relatively normal kid. I missed out on certain things that I always wondered about: the high school dances, proms, fraternities.

'But my childhood was normal until I was 13. I did a movie called 'Bugsy Malone,' which changed everything. I was brought to Los Angeles.'

But despite his lucky break, Scott admitted that there came a point where he wasn't taking the job Happy Days seriously as his role got smaller and smaller and that he almost let his career slip through his gingers

He said: 'One of the executives wanted to fire me but (Happy Days creator) Gary Marshall said, "Let him go through it. He'll be OK." Gary told my dad, "Your son is not doing his job." My father told me, "This doesn't come around but once in a life." I started doing my work after that.'

Sadly Henry 'The Fonz' Winkler could make the charity bash as he and his wife were busy attending the movie premiere for The Intern over in New York.
