Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal enjoyed a celebratory dinner out on the town on Sunday night – and he certainly arrived in style.

Just hours after seeing his side beat Liverpool, the Dutch manager was being whisked off to footballers' favourite restaurant Wings, along with his wife Truus and a family friend.

All three arrived in a stunning Bentley – complete with personalised W1 NGS number plate - which was sent by the restaurant for Van Gaal.

Van Gaal watched his United side close the gap on Premier League leaders Manchester City over the weekend with that win.

And his mood was clearly still buoyant as he arrived at the Chinese and Dim Sum restaurant with a beaming smile.

Goals from Daley Blind, Ander Herrera and new boy Anthony Martial set his weekend up nicely as they cruised to a 3-1 win with Christian Benteke netting for the away side.

Van Gaal said after the game he enjoyed playing Liverpool because he had a 100 per cent record against them and was also full of praise for Martial following his debut goal.

'I am very pleased,' admitted Van Gaal. 'Anthony's goal was marvelous. Physically, I can see that he can play in the Premier League.'
