Retro glam! Blake Lively looks gorgeous in shimmery 1940s silver gown as she films new Woody Allen movie with Kristen Stewart
Blake Lively appears to be playing a glamorous role in her new Woody Allen film.
The actress looked stunning as she was spotted on set in New York in a shimmering silver gown, perfect for the film's 1940s setting.
While the latest film by the controversial director is shrouded in secrecy, Blake looked every inch the movie star in the retro gown.

The untitled Woody Allen film, which is set in New York's Chinatown in the 1940s, also stars Kristen Stewart and Jesse Eisenberg, who have also been seen around Manhattan in period costume.
On Friday, Blake looked gorgeous in the fitted floor-length gown, which featured a plunging neckline and backless design.
The actress added pretty grey mary jane heels, and wore her blonde hair down in soft waves.

She added two large sparkly rings and a classic red manicure to the timeless look.
At the back, the dress featured a daring V-strap that connected to the shimmery gown with a glittery brooch.
Former Gossip Girl star Lively appeared to be concentrating intently, perhaps running over her lines as a crew member escorted her to a waiting SUV.

Earlier, Lively arrived on set in a pretty floral blouse, which she cinched in a knot that showed off her trim midriff.
Black skinny jeans, menswear-inspired lace-up shoes and a cute pink and red handbag completed her stylish look.
After the end of her hit CW show, Lively took time off to wed actor Ryan Reynolds in 2012, after the pair meet on the set of Green Lantern.
The famous couple welcomed their first child, daughter James, in December.
Lively's costars Kristen Stewart and Jesse Eisenberg have also been hard at work on set.

Stewart was spotted on Monday looking serious while in costume, wearing a pretty pink patterned dress with cute collar.
The actress added a matching bow in her hair, and stayed comfortable in a cosy grey hoodie and her own black sneakers.
To keep the sun off her fair complexion, a crew member helpful shielded her with an umbrella they made their way across the busy street.

It was ironic that on the set of Woody Allen's period film, Kristen chose to take a break from filming and costume and donned a hoodie and her very own pair of retro high tops.

The film reunites Stewart with Jesse Eisenberg for the third time, after this summer's stoner action flick American Ultra and their 2009 movie Adventureland.
The controversial 79-year-old director has also cast Steve Carell, Parker Posey, Judy Davis and Corey Stoll for the period ensemble.
Later, Stewart was seen wearing skinny jeans and a jean jacket on set.

Clutching her hair in surprise, Stewart - who has previously said she hates her 'unapproachable' image, appeared unsure if she should agree.

The comedian squinted into the sun and held his glasses as he walked with other cast members, who were also in costume.
