The rapper boyfriend who is accused of murdering Morgan Freeman's granddaughter in an apparent cocaine-fulled exorcism has pleaded not guilty to her murder in a Manhattan courtroom Tuesday morning.
Lamar Davenport, 30, appeared with his attorneys to enter his plea after being on a psychiatric hold since the violent death of E'Dena Hines on a sidewalk in Washington Heights, New York on August 16, TMZ reported.
An initial report said that Hines was stabbed 15 times, but the district attorney said in court that she was actually stabbed 25 times.
Prosecutors also said that the knife was still in Hines' chest when police arrived to the horrific scene, after witnesses say they saw the 3am attack happen.

Davenport's attorneys said that he was about to begin psychiatric examinations in New York City at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital, TMZ reported.
Davenport, who has been arrested six times across two states, was in a reportedly volatile on-off relationship with Hines for nine years, despite him seeing other women and having a history of violence.
George Hudacko, 65, who saw the 3am attack from his window and called 911, said Davenport was stabbing Hines and screaming: 'Get out, devils. In the name of Jesus Christ, I cast you out.’
Davenport, who has two young children and went by the name Lyric when performing, has a history of substance abuse problems and has had numerous confrontations with the law.
According to People magazine, in 2010 he was charged with petit larceny and the possession of marijuana in two separate incidents in New York. Both were later dropped.
In 2014, he was arrested with cocaine on him in Los Angeles and agreed to go to rehab.
However he failed to show up to a February court hearing. A judge signed a bench warrant for his arrest.
Last January, he was taken to hospital following a 'drug-related incident' in Pennsylvania.

She also appeared in a number of movies herself.
Morgan, 78, who was once forced to deny a romantic relationship with Hines, said at the time of her death that 'the world will never know her artistry in talent. Her star will continue to shine bright in our hearts, thoughts and prayers. May she rest in peace.'
He added: 'I want to acknowledge the tremendous outpouring of love and support my family has received regarding the tragic and senseless passing of my granddaughter E'Dena Hines. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.'
