Back to Blighty! Ricky Gervais and partner Jane Fallon arrive at LAX following his show-stealing turn at the Emmys

He provided this year's Emmys with one of their stand-out moments.

But on Tuesday Ricky Gervais was showing no signs of slowing his schedule down, as he and long-term partner Jane Fallon jetted out of LAX airport back to the UK.

Arriving for their flight at the busy travel hub in Los Angeles, the comedian and the author, both 54, cut relaxed figures in their casual comfy ensemble as they strolled side-by-side through the terminal.

Ricky, who had narrowly missed out on an award at the 67th Emmy Awards on Sunday, dressed down for his travels.

Donning a casual all-black ensemble, The Office star teamed sweatpants with a T-shirt and trainers.

Sporting his trademark beard Ricky, who has carved out a glittering career both in his native UK and the US, appeared to be going for a low-key look by donning a baseball cap and dark shades.

Obviously not one to waist any precious time, even when travelling, the Night At The Museum star carried a leather messenger bag - presumably containing some work items.

Jane - who has been in a relationship with Ricky since the eighties - had opted for an equally dressed down and comfy wardrobe.

The TV producer and author teamed a pair of turned-up denim jeans with a pink T-shirt, which featured a monkey print on it.

Rounding off her outfit with a pair of pink adidas trainers, the London-born writer opted for a minimal amount of make-up whilst she wore her locks scraped back into a ponytail.

With a pin-striped jacket slung over her carry-on bag, the Skeletons author also appeared to be ready to do some work on the long-haul flight.

'So take a picture,' he told the crowd, before adding: 'In fact, can I have an Emmy? Can I get an Emmy?'

An Emmy was then wheeled out, and he pretended to break into tears and pulled emotional faces as he urged the crowd to spread news of his win.

'So take a picture of that,' he said. 'Tweet that, and, uh, Bob's your uncle.'
