Disney Princes with dad bods: Clever artist transforms your favorite heroes into real men with beer guts and chest hair

  • Illustrator Loryn Brantz's drawings show how all animated characters depict unrealistic body standards

Disney princesses aren't the only cartoons being held to impossible body standards, and one artist has imagined what it would look like if the entertainment company's princes were drawn to look like average men.

Illustrator Loryn Brantz has taken some of Disney's most iconic male leads and turned them into real-life men - beer guts, hairy chests, and all.

The stunning before and after images, which were shared on Buzzfeed, show that even without bulging muscles or a smooth chest, a man can still be a prince - albeit a more realist one.

In one of the pictures from the series, Prince Eric from The Little Mermaid has a visible beer gut hanging over the red waistband of his pants.

The animated character went from being a trimmed and toned sailor to a 'well-fed prince' with the extra pounds added to his once whittled waistline.

'Eric's got some major dad bod there,' one commenter wrote on Buzzfeed's Facebook page.

Meanwhile, another noted: 'The Eric pic actually makes pretty much no sense to me. He's a teenage boy shown to be at least somewhat active, and we don't see him shoveling food in his face.

'Realistically speaking the "realistic" pic isn't all that realistic, all things considered. Oh, and that part where he's a cartoon. [sic]'

However, the updated drawing of Aladdin shows him as the 'gangly nipple teen' he could have been.

In the newimage, the artist added nipples to Aladdin's bare chest, which was pictured without them before. The Disney prince's muscles were also removed as he was drawn to look like most lanky teenage boys with patches of chest hair.

'Free the nipples,' one person joked on Facebook, while another added: 'I always wondered why he didn't have nips. [sic]'

Loryn also depicted images of Prince Naveen, Prince Philip and John Smith without their cinched waists, as well as bare-chested Tarzan with plenty of body hair.
