She's back in the game! Freshly Botoxed Kim Zolciak redeems herself with solid performance on DWTS after dismal first week

  • Chaka Khan was the first dancer eliminated from the show

Reality TV star Kim Zolciak Biermann will dance again after surviving the first elimination show on Dancing With the Stars.

The former Real Housewife of Atlanta had been a red hot favorite to get sent home after getting the lowest score from the judges on last week's premiere.

But a last minute trip to Kardashian Botox expert Dr Simon Ourian in Los Angeles must have done the trick as Kim raised her game in week two and fights on in the competition.

Fresh off last week's lowest score of 12 and severe criticism from the judges Kim was determined to make amends.

'It was all kind of a blur, the scores and what they said. I am really disappointed in myself because obviously i can do much better,' said the 37-year-old mother of six.

'Where can you go from here but up.'

Back in Atlanta she and partner Tony Dovolani worked on the routines for the week.

But Tony became increasingly frustrated at the amount of phone calls Kim was getting and her repeated checking for messages.

Kim reflected on week one: ‘It was all kind of a blur, the scores and what they said. I am really disappointed in myself because obviously i can do much better’

'Like, I am a frazzled mess.'

The pair then took to the floor to perform a quickstep to try and save Kim's place on the show.

And the pair shared smiles and laughs as they felt they did a good job with the dance.

'This is a tough week and we are seeing everybody struggle, but you gave us pow, pow, you showed us you are in the game Kim,' said Carrie Ann.

Asked by Juliane how she felt about her dance, Kim laughed and said: 'I loved it.'

'If you had given me the salsa in like two weeks then I would have felt a bit better,' she said feistily.

Julianne told her that her performance was 'so much better.'

'That was just scratching at the surface of what she has to offer and what she is capable of. I know you have got it,' said Juliane.

'She is alive, she is alive. It is the most unexpected comeback since Lazarus. What a way to be back in the competition,' said Bruno.

'That is exactly what you showed tonight and it was so fun. Overall I loved it,' said Julianne.

Bruno said the Aussie teen was 'turning into Mad Max' as he called the performance 'absolutely surprising.'

Backstreet Boys singer Nick Carter, whose home town is Tampa, Florida, and partner Sharna Burgess kicked off the show with their jive.

'The neighborhood I grew up in there was a lot of dysfunction and families who had problems and bad kids on the streets,' he said.

Nick dedicated his dance to teacher Sandy Karl who kept him on the straight and narrow and introduced him to performing as a youngster.

'Without her I would probably never been Nick Carter from the Backstreet Boys,' said Nick.

Nick struggled with his footwork and his shoes seemed to cause him to slip several times during the routine.

'He threw his shoes off because you did slip and I thought that got in your head a little and may have mumbled your feet a little bit ,' said judge Julianne Hough.

Bruno Tonioli told Nick he felt like he had a double espresso had 'been buzzing' so much he forgot some of his footwork and described the dance as 'a bit rough.'

'maybe it was the shoes, but I like your confidence and your alert approach to the performance. You do not let this thing get you down you get on with it and sell it.'

'It was rough. I am surprised as you are the consulate performer and I would not have thought that nerves would get to you,' said judge Carrie Ann Inaba as she warned him not to be 'too heady'

Hayes grew up in Mooresville, North Carolina, where he grew up doing motocross and water sports on a lake with family and friends.

Hayes mom cried as she said how proud she is of her boy and Hayes himself was fighting back tears as he said he could not wait to dance in front of her.

Hayes and Emma then performed a foxtrot with a motorbiking theme, with Hayes riding onto the dance floor on one of the machines.

Carrie Ann said she did not like the motorbike gimmick.

'I don't think that was a good way to start it, you can dance and don't need any of that stuff,' said Carrie Ann as she complimented the youngster's 'lines.'

'Once you got going it was like cruising along the majestic Lake Michigan. You hit a rock or two in the middle but you did not sink. it is a step forward,' said Bruno.

Carrie Ann complimented Chaka on her 'incredible warmth and smile' when she danced and praised her ability to get over mistakes.

'I want to see you when you don't forget the choreography and I know there is something magnificent there,' said Carrie Ann.

'I love this place, I love it. I am here to stay,' yelled Gary cheerily after the dance

The Hollywood star called Tulsa a 'spark in his heart' as he recalled its football heritage and passion.

Gary's old football coach spoke of how Gary's 'determination' had seen him make the team as photos of Gary at high school were shown.

'He worked hard enough to be the best and he has done that in everything he has done through life,' said his old coach, Larry.

Gary and Anna then took to the dance floor for a high-school themed foxtrot.

'I love this place, I love it. I am here to stay,' yelled Gary cheerily after the dance.

'What a pleasant surprise, that actually looked like a foxtrot, it did,' said Bruno as he labelled Anna 'a miracle worker.'

'It was dainty, it was attentive, not quite Fred Astaire but we have got 11 weeks to go.'

'I am so proud of you,' said Carrie Ann.

'I like to walk on the edge, it is one of my hobbies,' said Gary.

Julianne said she loved that Gary was exuding the energy of a 12-year-old boy.

'You are having so much fun and you look handsome and you are charming and that was such a beautiful and sweet dance,' said Julianne.
